My Top 25 Country Songs of All Time

I thought I’d been around country music for about 20 years now, but since my parents are fans too, I’ve been around all my life. The following is a list of my 25 most popular songs of all time – classics, some current, and all great.

Some Memories of the Just Will Not Die – Marty Robins. Great singer – and car Driver as well – He speaks to me in this way. I can’t really place anything on it, but the voice is just wrapped around these lyrics.

For all ages and ages, amen – Randy Travis. The perfect song of absolute love.

Stop Loving Her Today – George Jones. For many, this is the most perfect country song ever written. The most important story is the unconditional love of music.

Feel a lot less damn these Oldies – Garth Brooks. Our introduction to the phenomenon that Brooks became – and the “Chris LeDeux tape” helps other careers, too.

Flowers on the Wall – Statler Brothers. Alice acts as the mother of the country, and I grew up loving the song – at a young age, probably something about “Prefectus Macropus” line.

The King’s Way – Roger Miller. Another great, unique country voice, wraps up the great song of the story.

If You Gonna Play in Texas – Alabama. “Gloria fiddle in the band.” Alabama will go down in history as perhaps the greatest group in country music.

Driver (on Daddy Gene) – Alan Jackson. AJ has had some terrible songs in his career, but the crossover story in this song makes it my favorite.

Alcohol – Brad Paisley. Paisley is a singer-songwriter in the vein of Roger Miller – tell a good story and give it a twist. It’s a heck of a picker too.

Anyone in New England – Reba McEntire. A northern country song? Kinda crazy, but the classic tunes.

Cinderella – Vince Gill. Not one of Gill’s biggest hits, but a fan made song – also beautiful mandolin work.

All My Exes in Texas – Live George Strait. Classic country, classic bass, and points for “transcendental meditation” in the country song.

Johnny And June – Heidi Newfield. Trick Pony former vocalist hit the ropes debut single, an ode to Cashis.

Gunpo and Lead – Miranda Lambert. Strong vocals about a woman having enough.

Folsom Prison Blues – Johnny Cash. This list could include a song by Johnny Cash. but these things I choose. Another story of a great poem.

Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. He is why.

Rose Garden – Lynn Anderson. Great voice, classic song.

Take This Job and Break That – Johnny Paycheck. Isn’t that what we all wanted to say?

Harper Valley, P.T.A. – Jeannie C. Leo. Every song that can inspire television series has a good one.

D-I-V-O-R-C-E – Tammy Wynette. Tammy.

All My Friends Rowdy Through Tonight – Hank Williams Jr. Ordo Bocephus .

There’s a tear in my well – Hank Williams Sr. and Hank Williams Jr. Oh, wonderful technology.

Win Circle Unbroken (1989 version) – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and friends. The Dirt Band 1971 recorded a new generation of stars and blurred the lines of musical genres.

Coal Miner’s Daughter – Loretta Lynn Last set to music autobiography.

The Devil Comes Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels Band. Amazing fiddle, awesome story, great cross appeal.
