Eyes can reveal so much about a person and a good eye makeup is capable of completely enhancing (or destroying) your overall look. Lucky for people like me, you don’t need a big budget to look fabulous. When I was younger I was embarrassed by my big eyes and did not want to bring attention to them. As time went on though I learned that my eyes should not be hidden, but enhanced and be the prominent feature of my face. I have experimented with countless varieties of eye makeup, all of which have been under $10. So the following list is my compilation of the five best cheap eye makeup products that you can get all of them at the drugstore near you.
5.Almay Liquid Eyeliner: $7
I’m a big proponent of the usage of eyeliner. It may not be suitable for everyone but if you love dramatic big eyes, liquid eyeliner is essential. When choosing liquid eyeliner you want one that goes on smooth, is waterproof, and has a fine tip point for a precise line. Nothing looks worse than black smudges under your eyes halfway through the day. I have found that Almay liquid eyeliner goes on really well and does not cake, flake or smudge. However, if you aren’t a frequent user of liquid eyeliner, make sure you do not blink until the line is dry.
4.Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara: $7
Cover Girl has a pretty good reputation when it comes to making affordable, quality makeup. Kelly Burton of Somerset, Kentucky writes that this mascara is “the only one I’ve tried that actually does what the commercials say…it really gives you longer, fuller lashes”.
3.Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow Quad: $5
I bought this eye shadow about two months ago and what I love about it is that each color not only complements one another, but the guide written on the shadow telling you which part of the eye to apply each color (lid, crease, brow bone, outer corner). This shadow is also available in duos and trios for those who want less color.
2.NYC and Wet n Wild Products
I’m not including any specific products with these product lines because when you are on a very tight budget these two brands can give you a lot of bang for your buck. Both have a large variety of eye shadows, eyeliner and even mascara and usually all for under $4 and often only $1, you cannot get any better than that. I have found that their products are usually just as good as the more expensive brands and with many options.
1. Sleep
No, sleep is not a trendy new product you are yet to hear about. A full nights rest is the cheapest yet most essential thing to make sure that your eye makeup looks good. You can buy all these great affordable products, but if you have bags under your bloodshot eyes, not even the most expensive makeup will make you look revitalized.
There is no reason to dish out nearly $100 at high end department stores for a good collection of eye shadow, mascara, and eye liner. All of these products are great and have the full potential to make you look fabulous and still have plenty of money to spare.
