Palmolive Oxy Plus Foam Versus Palmolive Dish Washing Liquid

Palmolive’s Dishwashing Liquid is known to be one of the best dishwashing liquids on the market. I have used it to hand wash dishes for years and I love how just a few squirts of it makes a sink full of water fill with bubbles. I’ve tried several other brands of dishwashing liquids and I always have liked it the best, because it has such a thick formula. Even if my dishes have been piled up in the sink for a day or so, and the food is really stuck on, five or six drops of Palmolive Liquid to a dishtowel will usually get me through a whole load of dishes.

It suds easily and it’s really is gentle on my hands. Some dish washing liquids that I’ve tried in the past have either been a bit harsher on my hands or would require a lot of elbow grease to clean the dishes well since the formulas were too thin, but Palmolive has the best balance. I also love the fact that Palmolive has expanded their dishwashing liquid line over the years and have produced more scents like Green Apple, or Berry Blossoms and even aromatherapy scents like Lavender to make the mundane task of washing the dishes more enjoyable.

I recently tried Palmolive’s Oxy Plus Foam a fairly new product, that uses the power of oxygen to clean dishes, and I have to say I loved it more than their dishwashing liquids. The label on the Oxy Plus Foam claimed that all it took was one pump of the foam to do the dishes, which seemed so unbelievable.

The Oxy Plus Foam is sold in a small bottle and the product is pumped out of a dispenser. With it dishes no longer need to be soaked in a sink filled with water, all you need to do is pump the foam directly onto a sponge or towel with a bit of water. The oxygen that the foam utilizes is so powerful that it can get rid of hardened food or greasy residues easily. It took me a while to get used to washing dry dishes, but after I did I loved the convenience and how quickly and easy it became to wash the dishes.

The food came off much quicker than it would with the regular dishwashing liquids, even Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid, and without having to use a lot of foam. One or two pumps of foam usually got me through every load of dishes, halfway through, if the bubbles began to disappear I’d wet my towel again, and a whole new crop of bubbles would magically appear without me having to add any more product. It was amazing. I also found that rinsing the dishes became much faster and I didn’t have to use as much water as I normally did. I could tell when dishes still needed to be rinsed because tiny oxygen bubbles would rise to the surface, but it wouldn’t cling to the dishes like regular dishwashing liquids do, and one or two rinses would usually rinse them away, and my dishes would always look sparkly and streak-free.

While I love Palmolive Dishwashing Liquids and the many scents that it comes in, I have to say that their Oxy Plus Foam is fantastic and beats the liquid detergents by a long shot. The only thing that you’ll have to get used to is washing your dishes dry, but once you do you’ll love the convenience. You’ll save money because it takes less of the product and water to work. It also saves time and effort. The two scents that it comes in aren’t my favorite but I’m sure Palmolive will introduce more scents later on. The only thing I wish that was different about the foam is that it would produce the same amount of oxygen bubbles on dishtowels as it does with sponges. The foam is formulated to work best with sponges, which I hate to use because they’re a breeding ground for bacteria, so just note that you might have to use a bit more foam and water if you’re using a dish towel for a heavy-duty load of dishes. But with all things considered Palmolive’s Oxy Plus Foam is great.
