For almost two years now I have been a happy homemaker and full-time resident of Monroe County, in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. If you are looking for a great place to live and play, this is it. The surrounding Pocono Mountains and Delaware Water Gap National Park offer natural wonders to enjoy. Summer and winter are full of fun. Camelback Water Park is loaded in the summer and when winter rolls around, you can slide. The Pocono MountainsPocono are year round to get away from it all. Come on a date or book one of the many excellent hotels in the area that are perfect for relaxing and having a good time.
National Parks

Around the beautiful Pocono Mountains we have access to admire some of our nation’s most beautiful natural parks. Gap National Park is located near Stroudsburg, PA, the county seat. A magnificent view of the “Gap” is possible as you approach from the West on Interstate 80. Through the break in the mountains you can see the Delaware River and the giant the trees that grow on the side of the bridge you drive over the Interstate. The park itself preserves 40 miles of the middle Delaware River and nearly 70,000 acres of land along the New Jersey and Pennsylvania shores. You can take a day to drive through the park and see the waterfalls and visit historic Millbrook Village. Saturday street in summer with Park wanderers and art volunteers persons in period costume demonstrate the skills of the season. . Some of the original structures are open for visits.

There is plenty of free parking and on a nice day you can wander around to your hearts content and shop for all the great savings. As you stroll around your shopping district, treat your eyes to the beautiful Pocono Mountains that surround you.
