Perfume Review: DKNY Red Delicious by Donna Karan

Seeing as how I just finished writing a review on Donna Karan’s Be Delicious perfume for women, I figured I might as well finish writing this about the second fragrance released right after Be Delicious.

Name:

Red delight.

I don’t even know it’s going to be a favorite of mine. (I loved the incense, but the smell didn’t last long). Red Spot is delicious in the perfume counter at my local ULTA store. It sat next to Be Delight, and it comes in the same bottle that Be Delight does.

Delightful red hair color comes perfume. This particular perfume seems to be a delicious red apple… Where Be Delicious was a granny carpenter, or a green apple green for green colored perfume.

It is apple shaped which is cute and trendy. But the NECK was also the same, and if you caught my delicious review, then you already know about the HORRIBLE NECK.

The neck is built on top of an apple-shaped bottle. When you try to push and focus on it, you can easily drop the fragile glass bottle on the floor and break it. I hate the neck, and those who set it up need to do something about that issue.

Although I had no plans to purchase Red Delight, I still wanted to give it a try. I picked up a sample bottle and sprayed the delicious red on my wrist and gave it a sniff after the initial alcohol smell faded.

Odor:

Well… umm nothing spectacular to note about Red Delicious, because to me it smelled almost 100% like Be Delicious. The same apple signature was easily detected, and the same warm undertone was present.

In my opinion, it is a type of sale. It’s basically delicious, in a different color. What is hell?

The red delicacy has a slightly sweeter note.

It’s a gorgeous scent, yes… but it’s almost exactly the first in the DKNY Delicious collection.

Extreme:

My main issue with Be Delicious was the fact that the splendid smell went away in a matter of 20 minutes. A lovely red spray, and the smell lasted about the same amount of time. It was glorious for a 20 minute debut…and then it went away.

Over:

I am once again disappointed by DKNY. So many of my friends recommended the brand to me, and when I tried both, I was nothing but disappointed when it came to the end.

I am doubly disappointed that companies can sell almost the same scent after releasing it months before and call it something else.

Red Delicious sells for anywhere from $60.00 to $80.00+ depending on the size and the store you purchase from.

DKNY’s perfume though another; indeed, in my opinion, to pass it by.
