Perkin’s Restaurant Inside the TA Truck Stop in Knoxville, Tennessee

When eating in Truck Stop restaurants it is hit and miss which one will serve you good food and do so with great service and which ones will leave you wanting to run for it. A truck driver learns over time which truck stops to stop at and eat and which ones to avoid. But who really wants to learn the hard way right?

I am currently traveling along with my truck driver husband Ken. So it will be truck stop food for me for awhile. Today we stopped at the Perkin’s restaurant inside the TA truck stop located in Knoxville, Tennessee. This experience was one of the great ones, which told me that when we come back through that area, I will be screaming and pleading to stop there and eat.

Our waitress, Jeanette was great from the moment we showed up to the moment we left. She was prompt with our drinks and was always coming by to keep my soda refilled. Ken had coffee and Perkin’s gives coffee drinkers their own carafe of coffee, this insured that Ken’s cup was full. With me having a Mr. Pibb, Jeanette had to bring me refills, which she did a great job of.

I had ordered a Rueben sandwich which I had a side of fries with. Ken ordered an open face Turkey and gravy sandwich. Our food did take a little longer than we would have liked, but Jeanette came by our table to apologize and to inform us that they only had one cook working because the other cook had called in sick. So with the place packed for lunch, our wait time was understandable.

When our food arrived it was served hot and cooked to perfection. Ken and I both truly enjoyed our food. The only regrettable part of our meal was when our plates were empty and we could no long get just one more bite of the scrumptious food off our plates. The total had come up to $20 and was worth every penny of it.

Jeanette was even kind enough to take our ticket and money up to the cashier for us, while we relaxed and smoked a cigarette at our booth. Her kind personality and prompt services, makes her an invaluable waitress.

I would recommend stopping and eating at the Perkin’s restaurant inside the TA truck stop located in Knoxville, Tennessee. With so many truck stops and restaurants located in Knoxville, Tennessee you should save yourself the trouble and just stop in at the TA.
