Everybody knows that each person has their own unique personality yet their personalities exhibit certain traits that can be grouped with other people’s which are similar. One of the major personality tests out there is the PACE color palette. This one is much more fun than the Meyer’s-Briggs and I believe gives you more insight into who you really are as a person. This personality test separates personality traits into four separate colors Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green. Each of these groups of people have traits that make them really good at some things and terrible at others. There are also things they love and things that drive them absolutely nuts. In following paragraphs I will discuss each color individually and give you insight into each color group’s personalities.
We will start with the color BLUE. People with blue type personalities tend to be more sensitive, more emotional, and more romantic. This is typically referred to as “being like a girl”. Women tend to be emotional and are often classified as blue, although men can be blue as well. Blues tend to value families, friendships, and emotional connections with those people or trustworthiness. They can also be extremely creative and work toward achieving peace in their own lives and in the world. On the other hand, they tend to hate people being excluded, people who are mean, and people who are closed off emotionally. Blues can be thought of as the sensitive ones.
The next color we will discuss is RED. Those people who can be classified as red are adventurous and like to do things their own way. They like to push the limits of society and break all the rules. They love change and excitement and always have a ton of energy. They can be considered the life of the party. However, reds tend to hate rules and the people who impose them. They hate orderliness, hate lists, and hate monotony. They tend to get distracted easily. Red people are spontaneous and tend not to think about the consequences of their actions. Reds can be thought of as the audacious ones.
Individuals classified as YELLOWs are extremely organized and love to have a plan. They like having lists of things they need to do and then checking them off when they are accomplished. Yellows are timely, like to invest in their communities and are natural leaders. They are determined, ambitious, and reliable. Yellows hate leaving work undone, immature people, and general chaos. Yellows can be thought of as the people who are anal-retentive control freaks.
Finally, we have the GREEN personality type. These are the people who are analytical thinkers, problem solvers, and the person who will tell you like it is. They do not hold back and tend to work very hard despite their extreme intelligence. They want to be successful and achieve the recognition that goes along with that success. Greens are highly independent people who do not like to work in groups. This takes away from their individual intelligence and success. They tend to be rather ingenious, inventing new ways to do things more efficiently. Greens hate “stupid people” and overly emotional people. They hate jumping from one task to another.
Have you learned anything new about yourself? What color are you? Does it surprise you? It is possible to be a combination of these personality types. You do not just have to be one color. Often, when you actually take the PACE Personality Test you come out strongly with one color followed closely by another color. It is often times that you may not be the color you were originally thinking you were. I turned out to be a yellow with a close green. I had expected myself to be a full green, however, now that I have taken the test and seen what each category means I definitely see that I am a yellow. I am still green in a way but I am not all that much of a critical thinker and analyzer. This test has taught me a lot about myself and how I see and react to the world. It also helps other people know how to communicate with me and get along with me. Taking this test will not only allow you to better understand yourself, but also, help those around you know you better. This test is often done in the workplace in order for coworkers to know the personality types of each other. This helps with productivity and coworker interactions. While this test is a proven scientific test, it can just be fun to take it and see what color you turn out to be!
