From invitations to diplomas, food, games and craft ideas, you will be able to create a fun party for your graduating preschoolers and their families as they move on to kindergarten. Set the date and make your graduation party invitations into the shape of a rolled diploma.
Diploma Invitations
Create four invitations per 8 ½” x 11″ page of computer paper by typing the information below (as well as your preschool’s information) onto four sections of a light colored (or white) paper, printing out and cutting into quarters.

Carefully roll each paper around a pencil, tie a satin ribbon around your mini-diploma and then pull out the pencil.
Diplomas
Find a graduation diploma or “In Recognition Of . . .” certificate template to print out online at 123Certificates.com or purchase a packet of 25 full-sized or half-sized pre-printed certificates with fancy borders from an office supply store. Print out the names of graduating children, gently roll up and tie with a satin ribbon and then tie into a bow. Lightly pencil child’s name onto the outside of the rolled diploma to ensure the correct child receives the diploma with their name on it.
Graduation Caps
Make foam graduation caps from either two 11″ x 14″, or 12″ x 20″ sheets of white craft foam and a long tassel. First cut an 8″x 8″ square and with a clear glue dot secure the tassel to the center.
Measure the circumference of a child’s head, and cut a long strip (or two strips) to fit the size of a child’s head, 3″ high creating the brim. Have your kids attach the circle brim around their head and secure with glue dots, then have them glue-dot the tasseled-square top onto the brim, and try on for last-minute adjustments.
Foods
Ask parents to get involved and make their child’s favorite finger-food dish. Suggestions could be pizza, tacos, corn-dogs, chicken, sushi, cookies, brownies, chips and dip, etc. Your preschool could supply desert-sized paper plates, napkins and juice or water. There will be plenty of food for everyone because some moms will cook up several dishes, just in case one or two moms forget to bring anything.
Games
A couple of weeks ahead of time decide on a song to perform for the parents and practice singing it in rounds until it is presentable. Also practice playing musical chairs, teaching your kids how to play safely, and before passing out diplomas on graduation day, play a quick game allowing parents to cheer-on their kids.
Get a group shot of all the kids together in their graduation caps and print a copy for each child. Request your parents come an hour earlier for graduation ceremonies with dinner immediately following, reminding them to bring their cameras to capture this special moment. Assure your preschoolers and their parents that they are practicing for high school and college graduation some day.
