Are you ready to cut out the letter H? Are you looking for skills that start with the letter H? Are you a home school mom in need of alphabet activities? Below are a few lesson plans. These are great for preschool, kindergarten and child care classes.
Speech Print Art
One of the most beautiful and memorable art is hand print art. Your students will make handprints that will be transformed into objects such as butterflies or flowers. Older children can create the animals themselves, while toddlers will need help.
One very popular idea is to impress Turkey. Children can trace their hands. The thumb becomes the head, the rest feathers. For the hands print the flowers, the footprints are the jewels of the flower. Students can add stems and leaves. For more suggestions, read “Handprint Art and Craft Ideas for Kids.
Instead of creating hand-printing animals, you can just have each child make a basket of their own hands. It’s news, but it’s fun. Write “H for hand” on the bottom of each palm.
Heart Magnet
The second idea is to paint the heart magnets and decorate the magnets. You can make a heart before using plaster of Paris. (Heart shapes can be found at most craft stores .) Or you can purchase wooden hearts. You can then create with card stock.
Students are encouraged to paint hearts and decorate them. For best results, use glitter and pom-poms. Big glue on the back. This makes a great gift around Valentine’s Day.
The Mosaic House
Mosaic Arts can help children improve their fine motor skills. Cut out pieces of construction paper. Use several colors, such as black, brown, white, green, gray, red. Show the children a picture of an example of a mosaic and encourage them to make one at home. The grass may be green, the roof may be brown, etc. This is better for five and even centuries.
Hand Puppet
Most kids will be considered hand puppets. The best way to do this is to use socks. Encourage the children to glue their eyes onto the sock. They can then use the label to create a mouth and nose. Coa can be used for hair. If you need a less expensive option, the kids can make them using paper bags.
Man
The trick of the horn is unique and memorable. The easiest way to make this thing requires a paper towel roll, wax paper, rubber bands and a pencil. Wrap wax paper around one side of the roll. Use a rubber band to hold it in place. A perforated iron in a roll with a brush. Children in need to sing on the “horn” to work for him.
Horse or Hippo Magnet
An innocent idea for children to color or paint is to have small pictures of horses or hippos. (Print the hippocentaur or horse coloring pages online.) Copy them onto a piece of paper, and shrink if necessary. After the children have finished painting them, stick a magnet on the back.
Honey Collage
This simple activity has honey cereal, glue sticks and paper. Children create designs with honeycombs on construction paper. Or encouraging them to letter H through the honeycomb.
