Product Review: Fender Standard Fat Strat Electric Guitar

If you want a Fender Stratocaster but don’t have the budget for a $950 US American made instrument, don’t think you’re lowering your standards incredibly by going for the cheaper Mexican made version. Sure, no USA Strat but for the money, it’s a great buy. Below is a great review of this musical instrument.

I ordered this Fender Standard Fat Strat via mail order. He reached the door safely and quickly without damage. I’ve always had trouble ordering guitars through the mail, but this experience was fine (knock on wood).

Features

The Fender Standard Fat Strat is a Mexican made electric guitar. The guitar features an alder wood body, maple neck, maple or rosewood fretboard (I chose maple), Fender tuning machine heads, one hum-bucking pickup in the bridge position, one angle pickup in the middle position and one single coil pickup in the neck position.

The Fender Standard Fat Strat has a 5 way pickup selector switch, volume and two knobs. It also features 21 vintage vintage style tremolo bridges. The guitar comes in color choices of Black, Arctic White, Sunburst Brown, Medium Wine and Silver Grey. All with white-guard. That being said, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.

How does it sound?

I play almost every type of music and this Fender Classic Fat Strat fills the shoes for the weather Metal, Country, or Classic Rock. I am using a Behringer GMX212 combo amplifier. It’s got your common single coil pickup ground but you’ll have to wait unless you have silent pickups which aren’t available on this model. With the 5 position electric pickup switch in the first position (closest to the bridge) you have a humbucker pickup that produces a decent fat and beefy, thick sound with high output. Flick the switch to the SECOND position and it turns the Humbucker into a single coil (releasing one of the coils) while simultaneously connecting a medium single coil pickup giving you a decent single coil pickup sound with a high output fit for a single coil pickup. “twang” leads. Flick pass to the third place and you only have half a pickup ball. This gives you a nice bluesy sound suitable for something like Jazz. Grab the switch to the fourth position and you have a middle pickup ball one with a neck one pickup coil. This gives you a nice bluesy sound with a bigger bite. Flick the switch to FIFTH position and you get just one pickup lap. I fit this pickup close to the strings and use it with a gentle overdrive and it gives me a great bluesy sound similar to style. This Fender Standard Fat Strat has tremendous versatility and is suitable for almost any type of music.

Does the dress remain well?

This Fender Standard Fat Strat is light and modulates reasonably well. The tremolo bar isn’t a rose Floyd or a locked trem so you can’t go bombarding and making siren sounds and expect it to resonate but for a simple vibrato stay, it’s fine. If you’re interested in doing a lot of tremolo work, you might want to consider this guitar in the available version that includes a Floyd Rose Tremolo lock.

How is the action and playability? How does it feel in your hands?

The action (how playable it is) was great. The intonation is slightly off but to be expected. Remember, when ordering equipment via the Internet or mail order equipment as anything can happen, it’s really a crap shoot. in transit When it comes to your voice on a Fender Standard Fat Strat, consider yourself lucky that it did. It’s not always possible, but when ordering, check with local music ship and plan to arrange. tion for The pickups were decently adjusted but I retuned them to my pre-adjustment so that the volume from my neck would take the single coil pickup.

No defects in the end or in the neck whatsoever. I owned a stratocaster in the USA and loved it in the past. I didn’t expect the neck on this instrument to feel good, but it did. There were no pipes that needed trimming, and the neck was smooth and straight. I didn’t expect this guitar to feel good in my USA but it was reasonable and it did well, it probably doesn’t sound as good as a fat strat in the USA but it’s pretty close to my ears.

The only thing I would change is that it would be nice to have more pickguard color options but that’s it. I love my Fender Latin Fat Strat.

I paid US $379.00 for this Fender Standard Fat Strat and when I play it, I would pay $100 for this guitar. As of June 19, 2006, I purchased the tool for $400.00 from the same online. The guitar does not come with a case so I recommend purchasing a hard shell case for less than $100 US. Grab yourself a Fender Standard Fat Strat before the price goes up again! I think this guitar can provide a lifetime of enjoyment and music making.
