I bought the Sally Hansen Lavender Spa Wax Hair Removal Kit to wax my bikini area. I have never used wax before; nor anything like it in a salon or day spa. I’ve never used a wax kit at home before because I was afraid it would be too messy and annoying. I didn’t even go to the salon for the prices.
Always shaven off the bikini line in the shower. My skin is sensitive, and shaving has always made it itchy and very irritating. Finally, I made up my mind. I. to find a better solution. I don’t ride in that area anymore.
I briefly considered buying an epilator, but they cost over $50 and I’m not sure if they would be easier on sensitive skin than a twin blade. At around $10, this is a reasonably priced home wax kit. When you consider that six ounces of wax and twenty cloths are included, it’s definitely cheap!
I used this wax kit for the first time in two batches. Number 1, I wear clothes because I really didn’t want to get waxed. When you heat the wax in the microwave, it is a little moist. It tends to end up in places you didn’t want to go. Number 2, I could not spread the newspaper on the floor. Otherwise, it is easy to use distilled wax not only on my clothes, but also on the linoleum. This was not a total disaster as I washed the wax out of my clothes. Sally Hansen recommends that you use this kit for your body, legs, arms and bikini area. After seeing what a great job it did on my bikini, I tried it on my upper lip. It didn’t work because I didn’t let the hair grow long enough for the wax to “catch” (this requires at least 1/4 inch growth) .
