Product Review: Tom’s Natural Deodorant

I was like so many other Americans, tired of white tops or lightly colored, faded pit yellow spots after wearing them three or four times. I knew that this was caused by the deodorant, and I believed that I wanted to live as if I still wanted to smell the world, so I just resigned myself to buying white t-shirts for two or three months. I once read in a magazine that aluminum in antiperspirants is what causes yellow spots under the wings and a few months later I read that if a person’s body absorbs too much aluminum like the one found in antiperspirants it could potentially cause Alzheimer’s. This info made me want to switch to aluminum-free deodorant. I buy my deodorant from a local drugstore and I noticed that most of the deodorants that I wanted to use and liked had aluminum, so I decided to try one that I’ve never used before and this idea made me try Tom’s Natural Deodorant although it was more than two dollars.

The CVS that I got this deodorant from only had three scents, lavender, calendula, and another scent that I hated, so I went with calendula. Calendula smells a tad masculine and woody, but I love that because it smells fresh. When I tried the deodorant the next day, I was surprised how gentle it was on my underarms, even though the skin is too dry skin deodorants smooth skin they are drawn out, and it leaves it scabby and rough. But this deodorant contains ingredients like aloe vera leaf juice and chamomile, so it really softens and moisturizes the rest. Although it’s in a solid stick form, it’s c-thru solid like a gel and another added benefit to Tom’s Natural Deodorant is that it didn’t leave any white marks on my clothes. Also, when I raised my underarms, it seemed to me that there was no big deal in this, because I have tried tons of different deodorants, which seem to leave white marks on the manifest or rub in plain sight. It also penetrated the shell casing and left my whites looking clean and crisp.

The only bad thing about the deodorant was that it didn’t provide any protection when I needed it most. Since it’s not an antiperspirant, it should sweat off immediately and I was wearing it for four hours as I didn’t have any deodorant at all. I tried using it for about a week to see if I needed to use it or not, but I always got the same results whether I was walking around working up a sweat or I was at home just lying around in the shower. I’m really hot and then I want to smell it. I’m used to sweats and would still use this product if it released the scent but because I don’t really use it unless I’m old in a white shirt.

Deodorant tom I only recommend Natural to that rare person who only wants light protection from deodorant. Or someone who wants to go natural and not worry about sweating or smelling later in the day. I also recommend that a woman who goes out to an event where her arms will be bare and doesn’t want to worry about white marks, just be sure to reapply every two or three hours. But this deodorant should be left to the rest of us.
