Product Review: Vivelle Dot Hormone Replacement Patch

After having a hysterectomy I was inundated with hormone replacement choices, along with my doctor, I decided to try the Vivelle Dot and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made. Vivelle Dos is discreet, functional and really functional. I give it four and a half out of five stars.

The Vivelle Dot patch is one of the newer hormone imbalance replacements available for women who have gone through menopause naturally or have been affected by surgical menopause. Strengths are available from 0.0375 mg/day to 0.1 mg/day. Remember to talk to your doctor about the proper dosage for you. Although the patch works fantastically, as with any product there are pros and cons.

PROS:

Size: Vivelle Dot is the smallest available raw hormone replacement patch on the market. The fullness of 0.5 mg/day is the size of a tax stamp and even 0.1 mg/day of raw cloth is only slightly larger. You will certainly not hide this even in intimate times.

Stick: Hormones later pain from many women in the The Vivelle Dot certainly doesn’t have that problem. The fullness is placed somewhere below the belly button and is placed on a plus size woman, I thought this would be a problem. Through showers and changes of clothes, they never lose weight. Once in, it stays.

Price: Even without insurance coverage, the Vivelle Dot is relatively inexpensive. Ranging from $40 – $60 for a one month supply may seem a little high, but the convenience of the patch versus the pill and the ease of use all make the Vivelle Dot patch, great.

CONS:

Schedule:

The Vivelle Dot chart says to change the patch twice a week. You choose the perfect model for your change based on when you first applied the patch. With each week having seven days, it is difficult to change the Vivelle Dot evenly in the middle of the week. The Vivelle Dot is only effective for 3½ days, but the schedule is set for you to change the patch after 3 days and again after 4 days. The second half of the 4th day leaves you with no hormonal coverage. Here lies the problem.

To fix this I changed my schedule to work better for me. Change the raw cloth every 3 days. I never have a period of hormone replacement and I stay within the weekly schedule.

So whether you’re switching to Vivelle Dot from another hormone later, or trying to reduce the dose of oral hormones, Vivelle Dot is waiting all yours will meet. With the use and discretion in the head of almost all women’s list, this product will surely be one. I enjoy I am giving the Vivelle Dot Hormone Replacement Patch four and a half out of five stars.
