Questions for the Lawyer After a Car Accident

A car accident can really upset your life. A moment of shock, inundated with forms to fill out, can greatly increase the stress they already feel due to injuries and trauma from the accident. It is useful to hire a lawyer to protect your rights. When trying to decide which lawyer to go for, ask the following questions:

1. I cannot pay any money in advance for fees, court costs, and expert witness. Do you want the money to adequately pursue my injury case? Do you expect me to be up to date with all your expenses, and will you discuss with me the need for different expenses?

2. What happens if I lose the case: do I still owe you money?

3. What percentage of my settlement will go to you? or deeper if we go to judgment? Can I have this agreement in writing and a signed copy?

4. Do you charge a fee to recover my past medical expenses? That is, do you get your cost from the total recovery (including medical expenses) or from what is recovered in addition to my medical expenses?

5. Do you charge me for consulting fees, opening my file, remote codes, etc.?

When you hire a lawyer, you may not know exactly what the lawyer is looking for. Here are some questions to keep in mind so that you can be a well-informed client:

1. Can I recover reimbursement for medical expenses incurred in the treatment of my injuries? What about future medical costs? Loss of wages? Loss of future earnings? Loss of enjoyment of life? Pain and suffering?

2. For what need is there of me to prove that I have fallen into pain and anguish of mind and life?

3. What I cannot pay out of pocket. When my Personal Protection (PIP) insurance expires, what should I do with the medical/physical care bills I receive in the mail?

4. After the disability income runs out, how do I pay living expenses until the case is settled? Can you find out if I have more coverage so I can get the most benefits?

5. Should I contact another car insurance company? Can you take care of all the letters, phone, and negotiations so that I can recover? What do you recommend I say if another driver’s insurance company contacts me?

6. What is my case worth? That is, what would be enough to accept the offer?

7. If you offer below this amount, please? And if so, what is the method of filing this request?

8. If I am permanently disabled, do I get social-security-disability-benefits”>social security Can you help me with this request?
