Restaurant Review: Aqua Oyster Bar and Fish House in Denver, Colorado

If you’re in the mood for seafood while in Denver, Colorado, check out Aqua Oyster Bar and Lounge. With a dining room and an upstairs lounge, this oyster bar could be a one-stop shop for both food and entertainment! Aqua’s decor is more on the trendy side, so don’t expect an elegant setting. The restaurant could be described as a warehouse style eatery with high ceilings exposed to the ocean decorating theme.

One highlight of the restaurants decoration is the 600 gallon aquarium in the center of the building with various salt water fish ! But the sleek design of the bed and the iron bar stools provide an atmosphere that is almost cool!

The second portion of the Water Oyster Bar and Fish House is the lobby of the building located at the rear. The games and dances on the floor are done boldly in black and red for an energetic effect!

Although the house is specialized in oysters, the menu contains a variety of seafood. You can choose from sushi, lobster, shrimp and fish and a wide selection of salads and side dishes.

One great advantage is that their oysters can be ordered by the drachma instead of the whole meal. This gives you the opportunity to sample a variety of oysters and find your favorites without ordering an entire appetizer!

The oyster menu has ten different seasonal specialties to satisfy any taste. Fish menus include sea-bass, Alaskan Salmon, Halibut and Trout among others. Other items include Alaska King Lobster, Main Lobster, clams, clams, clam chowder and Octopus Ceviche!

Aqua offers a “Two Can Dine for $55.00” menu that consists of a three-course meal for two. A first course may include dishes such as Lobster Bisque or Yellowtail Sashimi Salad.

The second course can be Jumbo Cake Crab Cake or Oysters Rockefeller. The third course will be a delicious dish like roasted lobster, or roasted short ribs!

The menu changes often to offer a wider selection and even incorporate fresh seafood. However, the restaurant has a consistent menu with regular items.

With the open kitchen you can actually watch your freshly prepared dinner if you sit within the viewing area. The staff will even tell you the coming sea weather if you ask!

Exceptions are not necessary, the Aqua Oyster Bar and the Fish House are rarely crowded. However, reservations can be made either online or by calling Aqua Restaurant.

The Oyster Bar is located at 925 Lincoln Street, Denver in the Southwest Capitol Hill neighborhood. Entrées start around $9 and go up to $75.00 for a seafood platter.
