When traveling in the Adirondacks, consider Bombard Country Cabins for your accommodations. These cabins in Saranac Lake, New York are fun and family friendly. There are lots of attractions and hiking nearby as well as high country peaks. Dogs are allowed, and cabins are available year round.
Recently our family decided to visit the Adirondacks and chose to stay in Bombard. My girlfriend remembered staying there for ten years, and thought she wanted kids, so through the magic of the internet I contacted them and made reservations. This is a small, family-owned enterprise that does not accept credit cards. They require that a deposit be mailed in before they hold the desk for you. In our case, it was a spur of the moment trip, well after the peak foliage season in late fall, so they let go of the deposit and reserved the largest cages for keeping two adult chicks and four kids.
All together there are four sites where you can stay, three with cabins and one with campers and campers. Each site is somewhat secluded and the amount of people that can vary by cabin. The cabins have central heating and cold water hand pumps in the basement. Each cabin has a unique personality. Our cabin had five rooms. The large kitchen was full of kitchen with table, fireplace, kitchen and utensils. There was also a small wood which we did not use, but it might have been a winter fire. A a small room with a corner bed was the kitchen. The kitchen led into a sitting room with settees and couches and lots of books and interesting things to look at. At the back was a room with 2 twin beds and a crib and a glass room with a rocking chair and an open loveseat on the twin bed. This was my favorite room. He had several books and tons of games to entertain on rainy days. The only ones on the wall were hanging on the wall. It’s all so much fun!
For cleaning, each cabin has enough outdoor shower with hot and cold water that you can use in May. October The next morning we tried it and even though it was very cold in the morning, it was fun and it cleaned us up! Each cabin also has a private room located not too close and not too far but convenient, but to keep away all the smell from which you stay. Even the bathrooms are decorated with posters and pictures and flashing lights!
It also covered our cabin with a swing porch and picnic table, and a private deck with a nice fire ring. and he wants to sit down. We only stayed one night but had a great time. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We are sure to plan again.
All bedding is provided. Electric cabin lighting, refrigerators, propane, and central heating were more than adequate. They ask that you leave the cabin as clean as you find it and that you remove your sheets and wash them on the bed. I can unreservedly recommend Bombardier Casari Farmhouse to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in the Adirondacks.
