Flatreads have become quite trendy as of late, and I spotted some at the grocery store the other day, so I decided to give it a try. Flatout Flatbread offered three varieties at Martin’s, and I was excited to try the Italian herb variety. Many people chose to eat healthier varieties of old favorites, such as pancakes and whole wheat rather than bound white flour and bread whites, which may contain empty calories and few nutrients.
Flatout says right on its package that it’s made with 100% whole wheat pasta and it’s only 90 calories ; It is high in fiber and contains nothing trans-bat through the servants. The package was 11.2 ounces and contained 6 low fat ice creams, counting one flatbread as a serving. One serving has a whopping 9 pence, which is over a third of the suggested daily intake. Gains 9 grams of protein and 10% of iron. It contains a trace amount of calcium. It has 13% sodium, which translates to 310 mg.
The main ingredients are water, whole wheat, oat fiber, gluten, and soybean oil. Some of the Italian herbs used are garlic, oregano, thyme, celery, and of course salt and pepper.
When I first used Flatout Light Italian Herb Flatbread, I was surprised that I know flatbread tends to be thin, but it was a little thinner than I expected. It was still just flatbread. I like to make pizza with it. I added some tomato sauce and garlic and sprinkled with some cheese, then baked at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. He turned out to be very pleased with the surprise. I could taste the herbs slightly, which I prefer, having an overpowering herb flavor. The taste was still zesty yet mild.
Then I decided to make a vegetable wrap with it. Something vegan, chopped parsnips, seasoned tofu, lettuce, tomato, and raw onion and wrapped. The bread seemed a bit drier than the pizza, but it was still tasty, and the flavor was natural, healthy and easy to wrap. It was strong enough to neither chip nor crumble. It can be so frustrating when eating a burrito or wrap and it tears in a few places so all the contents spill out and it becomes a big mess.
Flats cost $3.79 for 6 dresses. I think the price was a little high, but I’m so curious to try it. Although I enjoyed it and thought it was tasty, unless there was a coupon or price tag, I don’t think I would buy it again at that price.
My favorite thing was the flatbread, which, although a bit dry, had great flavor and texture in my opinion. The least favorite thing about the product, apart from the price, was the sodium content. I can’t compare it to other flatbreads in terms of price or taste, because this was the first package I ever bought at pizzas in restaurants and enjoyed them remarkably. I’m not sure which characters to use, though.
Flatreads may be a healthier choice for many dieters or those who are more health conscious. It is a lighter and healthier meal with lots of fiber and few, if any, additives. If you enjoy flatbreads, you’ll probably also enjoy Flatout Light Italian Herb Flatbread.
