Every year Fred Meyer has a huge sale the day after Thanksgiving, and every year they have a “Buy 1 Free” sale on Hershey Gold drinks. We’ve found that these make a great Christmas gift for just about anyone…after all, who doesn’t like chocolate?
We bought eight boxes, two Pecan Caramel Clusters, and two Nut Assortment. The first is good, this is my favorite.
Description
Each box is 7.7 ounces, and contains fewer chocolates than I thought they would. Until now, the only company that identified and printed on the lid what each piece of chocolate contained was Whitman Chocolates. But Hershey’s also made it very easy for you to choose a side.
There are four types of eggs in this box that are individually packed in a plastic tray with two trays attached to the box.
Hazelnut Bouquet:
What are you dealing with! I love hazelnuts, and hazelnut-flavored coffee, so this choice is one of my favorites. The chocolate bars are triangular shaped pieces, measuring about 1″ in diameter. They are pretty simple, have a great flavor and are generously covered. Plenty of chocolate< There are eight of these in each box, four in chocolate milk.
Pecan Caramel Cluster:
These pieces are round, and about 1 1/2″ in diameter, with roasted pecans and soft gooey caramel, covered in white milk chocolate. A box contains eight of these.
Signature Fragment:
This candy is shaped like a gold coin, measuring 2″ x 1 1/4″. It has the words “Pot of Gold” engraved across the top, and is made from pure milk chocolate. There are no nuts in these pieces, and these are the only two in the box.
Golden almonds
Another one of my favorites because I love almonds. These are large almonds, covered in a layer of milk chocolate. It’s as simple as that. There are eight in the box.
How stuffed are they?
These are not for those who are trying to lose weight! Five pieces contain 240 calories, 7 grams of fat, 5 mg of cholesterol, 40 mg of sodium, 21 grams of carbs, 1 g of fiber, 19 g of sugar, and 4 g of protein.
Recommendation
These are not as good as thin chocolates like Godiva, but they will satisfy your sweet tooth. They are expensive at a regular price of $8.95, and they never cost a single box. There are 24 chocolate covered pretzels in the box, which are small chocolate covered pretzels. and two solid chocolate Signature Pieces.
Hershey’s refers to these as a premium offering of hazelnuts, almonds coated in milk, and dark chocolate. /a>.
We have friends over the holidays and are invited to other homes, and it helps to serve them, or they need a hospitality/hospitality box as a small token of your appreciation. Over the years I’ve been in that situation where someone gave me a gift that I wasn’t expecting, and having a bag full of these requires a handy skill to receive the favor. At Christmas some members of our church had a white elephant Chinese auction and forgot to bring someone. a gift I quickly wrapped the box and the rest of the guests fought over that gift all night.
If I were to give someone a famous holiday gift, I wouldn’t trust them to like it. I don’t have to hesitate when I give chocolate. It is a gift that everyone loves. This is a beautiful gift, the gold-colored box looks a bit elegant, and you know these things will not end up as fruitful in the mud!
