Review of Dish Network Bundle Package

In this review of Dish Network (satellite television programming service) and its package deal, I will share my experience with you. First, earlier in the season we were using Warner Cable and Roadrunner. We were quite satisfied with them, except that our bill showed a slight increase each month, and during the last year, the whole had risen to $17 a month. In this recession, my husband and I are looking at every bill.

How does the Dish Network team compare to Time Warner for value?

One Saturday afternoon a young man came door-to-door selling telephone/Internet/satellite packages. It offered America’s Top 100 Satellite TV Package, Unlimited Fast Wireless Internet, and Unlimited phone with calling a> waiting and caller ID ALL for $50/month less than what we were paying. What a savings in this economy $50/month is!

To sweeten the pot, he told us that if we signed up we would like to install satellites $50 for free plus $150 Master Card gift cards, for a total value of $200. He also said that we have 90 day grace time in which we could withdraw our stipulation. no penalty except to give the owner $200 back.

I have now discovered that this is not true. First, we never received the $150 Master Card gift cards. Second, the installation was $99 (of which we got a $50 discount, but obviously the other $49 was to be paid). And finally, when we called to cancel (due to no TV reception) we were told that we would be charged a $230 cancellation fee.

How does the Dish Network team compare to Time Warner for quality?

First of the Internet:I use Frontier at work and you would never tell the difference between Frontier there and its predecessor at Home. So I had no problem with the idea of changing Internet service providers.

In reality, Frontiernet was a nightmare at home. It was never properly worked out. In the less than two weeks we’ve had Frontiernet, the longest I’ve ever been on the Internet is 22 minutes. Incredible. Every day I called customer-service-tips “>service, and finally to what I told them “If this service in my area He cannot provide, tell me. To their credit, the customer service reps were very polite and professional. However, the same cannot be said about technology. The first time the technicians searched my house the dirt was placed on the lawn, leaving a huge mess on the lawn!

Needless to say, we no longer have Frontiernet.

They were still using phone limits, though. The service is the worst, always has been – we have overhead wires (all of which phone providers they want to use) and call for service periodically. Moaning Living here as part of the Ultrices. My girlfriend got a digital phone and she says it’s worse, that I’ll be stuck with a new enemy.

Now for the television part. I know the satellite has heard badly about losing reception when it snows, so when the dish was installed I requested that it be placed lower so that I could easily access our roofs if needed. (Losing reception wasn’t a big deal to me, sometimes we lose cable).

The satellite techs insisted that they be placed at the top of our peak to work in the highest place. Here are the problems: #1: I don’t know where to put it, and #2: I can’t access the tray without a 30-foot ladder, which I would have to climb anyway.

When I called to report that we had no satellite service, I was told that the technician was placing the dish elsewhere. I then had to tell the phone rep that the tech told me that the disc needed to be put back where it was. (What bothered me was the fact that Network Dish had certainly installed a dish in any of the houses in my neighborhood so that the distance and height of my house would not differ).

Service Master for Dish Network package

Then, to add insult to injury, he made several phone calls only to be told that no one knows who the company is that sells the Network/Frontiernet package. What is? It’s not Dish Network. It’s not the end. Odd that they knew to come to my house when they signed, but no one can complain because “it wasn’t for them”.

Obviously, this was not what we signed up for. I also take issue with the fact that Dish Network is going to charge the fee for the new tablet on the account we used for the deposit. Although it is legal, it is not ethical.

In conclusion, I do not recommend Dish Network/Frontiernet/Frontier/phone Bundle.

This was the worst experience for us. At first we were misled by a sales rep. Second, they are deceiving us through the technique of dish placement. Third, we had no television reception. Fourth, no Internet service. Finally, Dish Network customer service was more concerned with protecting itself than solving the problem.

I have tried several times, by phone and email, to have this plan to my satisfaction. (Yes, I canceled and went back to Time Warner/Roadrunner.) I’m only posting this to let other people know about my experience in hopes that no one else makes the same mistake.
