Review of Little Green Model 1400 by Bissell

“You don’t have to worry about scale and dirty, hard balls getting to places anymore. The Bissell Little Green will have you all over the world! This compact, multipurpose deep cleaner is versatile, so cleaning is a breeze.”

That’s the hype from Walmart’s website, and this is about the great clothes and floor cleaner from Bissell.

There are several other comments on the internet about this cleaner that I have to agree with, first I will outline the cleaner and the pros and cons.

I’ve been looking for a carpet/floor cleaner to clean up after my two dogs since they have those unfortunate accidents that all dogs are prone to once in a while. I searched the web as I usually do these days and found some cleaners, but narrowed it down to two, one from Bissell and the other from Dirt Devil. When I wanted to go as a technician I was trusted and had previously had blanks from both companies.

The Devil’s Mud Spot Portable Scrubber seemed a bit small to me. It seemed to me that I was drawing more water and emptying it more often when I was using it on smaller, larger jobs, like beds and chairs sometimes and carpet stains. So I bought Bissell.

It is a very short church, a clip that rests on the boot for storage.

Getting ready for use is simple, just clean the water and add water to clean water. The device comes with a small bottle of cleaner but you’ll probably want to buy something more. If you buy a larger bottle of detergent from Bissell, it will last quite a while. You don’t need a separate measuring cup to measure your detergent, you just pour it into the tank to the first line, and then fill to the next line with water.

So you put the screw in the front part, put the tank in the slot, and turn it. The leak does not allow the solution to come out of the tank while charging. The cat is used to spray the solution onto the carpet. If you have a separate turbo stick or a model that you bought with it, you can use this as an area carpet cleaner. It has a round carpet with a razor brush.

Although I didn’t buy that model, I didn’t feel the need for extra scrubbing. When using the machine, keep an eye on the dirty solution tank. It has a full line and when you get there, you have to empty the tank.
To empty it you flip the small retaining lever up and lift the tank out of the engine, then pour it down the drain. I rinsed some of the cloth before putting it back. The accumulation of dirt in the tank can be bad, I wash it to get something out of the gun and leave. To rinse and clean it when it’s done, I just found it difficult to pull back. You have to move the water around in the tank to clean it. Pour water at the top or bottom with a sponge gasket and then pour. This is mainly based on a few dirts.

You also need to remove the nozzle and rinse it to get it clean. There is a small button that closes the deer in the boot. Push this and pull the nozzle off. Cleaning the neck is simply running water through it on both sides. You can pull out the hair and stuff or wash it off with water. I have shed my care and when cleaning the carpets it is necessary to remove the extra hair on the deer which sticks some. What I cannot get out with my fingers, I go out with water through it.

Other than that, Small Green works is great. You can leave the water in the cleaning-solutions tank for the next job, ready in those emergency seconds. You can just use a vacuum instead of liquids such as baking soda or milk spilled on the hard floor and carpet solution.

The nozzle has a removable brush to clean the carpet and since it lacks many bristles it is easy to change hands. My model comes with hard remove stains and brush bristles that you just pull out of the nozzle. There is also a window that you can remove if the nozzle is stuck too much.

There is a list of replacement parts available for the cleaner and also to upgrade your TurboBrush cleaner if it did not arrive when you purchased your model. You can buy all the parts for your model that serve the engine on the Bissell website or at one of their service centers.

Some of the parts I would expect to be replaced sooner or later were quite expensive. The gasket is a rubber collection that is $1, the whole tank collection is only $13.11. You can get a brush for $3 for the hard spot tool and if you want to upgrade to TurboBrush that runs for $28.11.

Bissell sells two cleaner solutions in different sizes, both a cleaner and a spot cleaner and odor are available. I get mine from the Walmart site where I bought the Little Green.

I’ve used mine often and it really holds up on stairs and other odd places that others don’t. My wife works at a daycare and we often take her there to help clean up when I wash and vacuum. It is the perfect rental partner for big jobs like good house cleaning in the spring.

All in all, I’m very happy with mine. It is ready to use in a moment, easy to use and affordable. I paid $69 for mine, and a few dollars extra for a bottle of cleaner. The laundry is dry as as dry as any direct or rental laundry cleaner I have used in the past and easy to clean. Yes, there are downsides to this one. The two are caught trying to clean the tank.

The neck is a little hard to pull off the boots because of the gaskets that help, but that’s to be expected. That’s why I didn’t find a solution for myself. The scrubber I use gets the dirt and soil in the shiny material and there is plenty of juice to pick up the dirty water.

I would highly recommend the Little Green by Bissell for small deep cleaning jobs and cleaning cleaning after kids, care and other balls.
