I was at our local Home Depot and needed paint for a room that no one ever enters. Therefore, the figure does not matter what paint I am getting, as the same color, just a basic touch. I bought Mobility Wall paint from Glidden when it was only about $10 for a bottle of paint which is a huge difference between the cost of other colors like Behr. I was paying anywhere from $25 to $30 per gallon of paint from Behr. This would be Glidden’s first experience as an adult.
painting I brought it home from Home Depot, and that day I started painting the room. Figured it was freshly mixed, why not. A small room which always seemed to have an open window in the summer, I didn’t figure it out for a long time. I was about 2 hours, moving things about so more time than the actual paint job. I noticed that while the Speed Wall paint was drying, it was drying more on the tops, but after a short second coat and leaving the room to dry completely, everything looked perfect. I was very happy. Paint the planes blue. A few weeks later I entered the room to discover the appearance of painting on the walls. I was astonished; I mean he didn’t look anything like he did a week ago. I quickly painted another shirt and waiting to play. The next day the room looked the same, like someone threw paint on the walls again! I applied two more coats, making a total of six coats. I noticed after I painted, how the paint was on the light switch cover, and I took a wash cloth and was able to clean the dried paint, when no more water! Figured it was probably a problem, although not wet, maybe wet after a while.
I decided to call Glidden and complain. My first call went through our area rep Glidden and I never called back. Three days later I called, and I called back. After I went to Home Depot, I bought Behr paint and painted the room in ONE coat. To this day, 4 months later, it is perfect with Behr, the first time!
Finally speaking with the Glidden rep, I expressed how deeply moved I was, almost in tears painting myself six times, and even then I didn’t look anywhere near as well as I painted before. Rep from Glidden Paint their design and also paint for free. He told me Speed Wall Paint by Glidden is used for nothing more then rental properties. I don’t care how much you spend. As a previous renter I couldn’t understand why someone would use cheap paint on a rental property. You have to paint a lot.
So all I can say about Mobility Wall Glidden is Punishment, run mountains! Ask for help if you happen to buy it. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would definitely rate this as a -5. Negative 5. This is only good for sponging, painting. If you’re a sponger, then cheap paint might work for you, but be aware that the Glidden rep told me that no paint dries in 30 days. That can still be wiped off with water at that time. I have never heard or experienced such a thing, and I have painted many rooms and houses in my time.
I also find it interesting that nowhere on glidden.com is Speed Wall paint mentioned.
