How to start
First you need to know how to swim. Certification requires the ability to swim 200 yards in any type of stroke and swim or treading-water for about 10 minutes. Second, make sure you are healthy and have recently been checked by a doctor.
Finally, find a center that fits your needs and check out the facilities in person before signing up.
Underwater Adventures Dive Center, Short Hills, NJ

Underwater Adventures Dive Center aims to introduce a variety of new features. Different people need to take at least 10 old courses. Underwater Adventures offers PADI educational.
Dive Center offers Open water Diver course. This course is a scuba diving certification type and costs $275. The Open Water Diver course is a combination of school, independent study, pool sessions and open water training. At the end of this course, students will receive a certification that they can issue anywhere in the world. The course can be completed in four sessions and pools combined with classrooms and a weekend of Open Water Therapy.
Dive Center supplies basic equipment for all pool sessions. Basic equipment includes regulators, buoyancy compensators, tanks and weights. Students are responsible for their own personal fitness equipment, such as a mask, fins, snorkel and boots. The total cost of the program depends on the training and gear selected.
Hoboken Dive Center, Hoboken, NJ

Hoboken Dive Center has trained thousands of divers and offers Open Water Certification courses. The course consists of two parts, school and pool training and open water training. There are two options available. The weekly night course meets once a week for six weeks, alternating between school and pool sessions every week, and costs $225. Who takes the course of the weekend. It starts on Friday night and ends on Sunday, and costs $299.
The price of the course includes the use of all scuba equipment, including a mask, snorkel and fins. These three must be purchased from the Center. There will also be another cost of $89.95 for the class materials. You will receive a text book, instructional maps, and a log book. Also, Open Water Training Courses are not included in the price of the Classroom and Pool Training.

1 877 ScubaUSA offers SDI Open Water Scuba Diver courses. Learn all the academic information at your level from the comfort of your home. Then you can complete in-water skill development training in full size swimming with an SDI Instructor. Finally, you will need to complete the four open water certification requirements. You can also complete your open-water training for your vacation.
The Open Water In-Line Academic course costs $109.95. Different Open-Water pool sessions cost $99.95. You will receive your Permanent Certification when all three levels of your training are completed.

Talk to the instructor and visit the site before signing up for classes.
Make sure you take the course and get a certified instructor from one of the major scuba diving training institutes. (PADI, NAUI or SSI)
Bookstores should practice manuals in most courses. It’s a good idea to check out these books before you decide which program to try.
A good course will educate and educate its students about taxes, AND instill respect and appreciation for the oceans and lakes and their inhabitants.
When buying scuba gear, look for brands with a reputation for quality. Inferior materials fail quickly.
You will most likely have to take a refresher course if you haven’t had a dive start in the last couple of years.
