Sea Pak Alpheus Sorrow’s Maryland Brush Crab Cakes Are Expensive, But Is It Worth It?
As a native Marylander, I love a good crab cake. But now that you live in Florida, it’s not easy to find restaurants that serve Mary’s crab cakes. I was wondering if the Sea Pak Maryland style crab cakes could even compare to the ones I had in Maryland.
To review my Sea Pak Alphei Society of Maryland crab cakes, I prepared two crab cakes in different ways. I baked one crab cake; I fried the other in a pan in butter.
Here’s what I can tell you about Mari Pak Alphei Company’s Maryland Style Crab Cake from my review:
No. 1: One ounce of crab cake served with Aioli sauce contains 240 calories and 13 grams of fat. If you fry in butter, the fat and calories naturally sprout. From my review, I would tell you that it was delicious cooked, but not the same calamistrato, butter flavor that I fry in butter on the stove. Make your choice based on your fat and calorie needs, but rest assured that a low-fat diet is better anyway.
No. 2: one crab placenta contains P.*1 fiber and sugar P. III and sometimes protein P. II. It also contains 50 percent of vitamin A, 15 percent of vitamin C, 8 percent of calcium and 8 percent of iron recommended for the day.
No. 3: The first ingredient is crabmeat. Other ingredients include bell peppers, mustard, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, wheat flour, and spices.
No. 4: I am surprised to see Pak Maryland-style crab cakes labeled as “Product of Thailand.” Apparently distributed by Seapak Alpheum Company in St. Simons in Georgia. Although I love the taste, I am very disappointed that the crab is not from Chesapeake Bay. of Maryland Although the Georgia distribution company supports the acquisition of the product, Maryland does not support the hornet.
No. 5: Ask to use Maryland style dressing. The preferred seasoning for crab in Maryland is Old Bay seasoning, which is not specifically listed on the crab cake package.
Bottom line: Sea Pak Maryland-style crab cakes are delicious if you can’t get the real thing. Maryland crab cakes aren’t authentic, but they do a good job of imitating the flavor and texture with the most crab and the least binding.
It’s not spicy, and could use a few dashes of Old Bay seasoning on top, but it’s worth the price if you can’t find Maryland blue crab. If you live in Maryland, don’t fight this fact!
