Shed Free Dogs

In short, no. But some dogs have hair, others have fur. A dog whose hair, like poodles, must be clipped, like humans, because they don’t shed.

All dogs are prone to allergies, dead skin that falls off the dog, and some people are allergic to dog saliva, so no dog is completely non-allergenic.

Some dogs are much better at being allergy-prone than others, and I’ll list more later, but first you need to decide if you want to commit to having an allergy-prone dog around.

We have always had dogs. We had dogs before kids came into our lives. One of our sons, who seemed to have severe allergy, went for allergy testing.

The doctor drew a grid from the back, and pricked the skin for possible allergens. Our child was allergic to 55 out of 80 test items.

I tearfully asked the allergist if we should get rid of the dogs, since we obviously couldn’t get rid of the boy. This is a real heart breaker for the family, even the allergic child.

The doctor gave us a firm “No!” He explained that our son felt grass, shapes, certain types of trees, pollen, etc. It could be expected when the number of allergens overwhelms his system. He was increasing the number of dogs and it would sometimes lead him to the edge, but in those times known allergens could be better controlled.

Some times of the year were really bad and allergens were not avoidable, so R. underwent “allergy shots” instead of 3. years By hitting him at the offending items, he felt that he could have a greater life. The immunization process has largely worked. R. also worked in a seminary one summer, but I would recommend no one “fortunate”. If patients know they are allergic to something, they should avoid it.

We went to keep our dogs. We had one dachshund and 2 poodles. R. Most of the time it was OK. When he had flare-ups with sneezing, runny nose and itching, having watery eyes, he used to take it by mouth. bad period simple otc antihistamines.

He avoided the knife allergy: we emptied his room frequently of dbook papers; we often sprinkle wet towels throughout the house; he avoided dirty and dusty places; he wore a mask when he shaved; etc.

Dogs also collect allergens from grass, pollen, yard debris, in their hair and outside hair. We washed and untied them many times. Side note: some dogs will tolerate low power vacuums with a soft brush, but ours never did.

Dogs can also introduce poison ivy in their coats and have an allergic reaction to the plant’s secretions. We wiped them with wet wipes if we thought weeds had gotten into the container.

Unless your child is very sensitive, hospitalized with allergies or an asthma attack, I think owning a dog is one of the most important parts of growing up.

We believe that every child should experience the companionship of a dog, trust, comfort, and absolute love. Care let them take care of the living soul that depends on you in food and water, in visits and baths, he teaches. wonderful life lessons for any child.

we looked at air purifiers. Most of them are ineffective, according to the December 2007 Consumer Reports. We had three electrostatic precipitators, and Consumer said they were not only ineffective, but produced unsafe levels of ozone, which “can worsen asthma and the body’s ability to fight CR. also said “there is little reliable medical evidence that cleaners help relieve respiratory symptoms. They can even threaten some healthy users.”

For those who insist on using air filtration systems, like us, CR recommends whole house forced systems for them. heat of the air But for the filtration of pollen, smoke, and dust, which was important to us, CR recommended the Charybdis Whispure, the Kenmore Progressive, and the Hunter Permalife “purifying filter” all for a little less than $300. (Some annual filters cost $130, $145, and $44, respectively).

These use HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters. Check out the items before you make a major investment.

If you are thinking about getting a dog and you have a child with allergies, try to spend an hour or so with your dog at home. Or ask to borrow a dog for the day and bring it home.

Non-shedding types are often safer than bran. I found a list of 28, which I was rather surprised by, but many are not recommended as good boys.

In a cross listing of non-shedding dogs with dogs that are good with children, the list is much shorter. For the dogs they want, you have never heard of, to find them to search for a good crop. (I’m cross indexing 12 species from www.gopetsamerica.com.)

1. Begamasco: has a gentle nature and take good care.
2. Bichon Frise: small; gentle; affectionate Obviously this is not a pet with rough housing.
3. Bonnies: listed as great with kids, but can be “easy” so early obedience is recommended training.
4. Chinese Crested: best for children over 5, at least.
5. Coton de Tulear: cheerful and gentle.
6. Dandie Didmonts can be good if they are socialized early with children.
7. Poodles, especially standards and giants, make very loving pets.
8. Toy poodles “are usually tolerated by children if they are socialized early.” Maybe ours weren’t socialized early enough, but I was never comfortable with any of the 4 threats we had to trust around their babies, especially strangers.
9. Pumas are good with well-behaved children.
10. Shih Tzus are “confident” towards everyone and love children.
11. Soft wheat is playful; big dog family.
12. Standard Schnauzers are “kind and have a positive mental attitude in life.”

Of course, many will not shed-mixed poodles, but not all will be free. It depends on what you’re mixing.

Think and make a wise decision. If you want to get rid of a dog, you have a family member who can offer a possible re-home. did he go up to the house? It’s very difficult to give up a family pet, but if the kids could still visit once in a while, it might soften the blow of a relationship that didn’t work out.

Huge numbers of dogs are euthanized annually for lack of good homes. I have rescued a dog for 4 years and I know the dire need for good homes. Speaking as a former rescuer and dog lover, please spay/neuter your care and avoid creating unwanted animals.

If you decide to give your dog a good home, choose wisely and have a backup plan in mind.
