Hershey, Pennsylvania has a lot more going for it than its candy factory – although that alone is a good enough reason to visit Chocolatetown USA. After you’ve gotten your fill of all things chocolate (at least for a while), stop at the Outlets at Hershey located just down the road from the Hershey Company and Hersheypark.
I’ve been to several outlet malls, and although there are many that are larger and a lot more extravagant, I’d rate the Hershey Outlet Mall as one of the best. I want four things from an outlet mall, and this one provides all of them: variety, relaxing atmosphere, amenities, and most importantly, good discounts.
Variety
The mall consists of almost 60 stores. These stores specialize in women’s and men’s apparel, children’s apparel, footwear, hosiery and intimates, health, books/music/paper, luggage/bags/sunglasses, jewelry & fragrance, and specialty shops.
My Favorite Stores
Book Cellar is a small, privately owned bookstore that has both new and used books. You’ll enjoy browsing through their large selection, but if you’re looking for the latest releases, you may not find them here.
Christmas Tree Hill is the place to go if you’re looking for a unique gift. It is one of those stores you need to walk through at least twice to make sure you haven’t missed anything.
Kitchen Collection has a store full of merchandise that makes spending time in the kitchen fun. Whether you’re looking for cookware, bakeware, utensils, or the latest kitchen gadget, chances are you won’t leave the store empty handed.
Times to Remember provides a large selection of scrapbooking supplies for people of all interests.
Totes/Sunglasses specializes in sunglasses, tote bags, and rain protection accessories.
Chico’s specializes in casual to business casual women’s clothing. For those not familiar with their sizing, clothing sizes range from 000 to 4.5 (sizes 0/2 to 20/22). If you’re a size 0/2, at Chico’s you would buy sizes 000 or 00. If you’re a 20/22, then in Chico’s world you are either a 4 or 4.5.
Jones New York caters to the professional woman. However, the store also carries casual clothing. I like the classic style of Jones New York clothing, but it can be pricey. This outlet regularly offers good discounts.
Reebok has a nice selection of both men’s and women’s sports clothing.
Nautica has women’s and men’s casual apparel. They usual have good discounts, but the selection for women is limited.
Relaxing Atmosphere
Hershey’s Outlet Mall is just large enough to provide a variety of shopping choices, but not so large as to be overwhelming. You can easily spend several hours there, but if you don’t have a lot of time, you can get in and out very quickly. There isn’t the commotion that is apparent at so many outlet malls. I can easily walk across the parking lot from store to store, rarely needing to dodge car traffic or fellow shoppers.
Amenities
Restrooms are located next to Starbucks, next to the Disney Store, and next to the Gap. They are always clean and well maintained.
Vending machines, containing refreshments and snacks, are located at the corners of the mall.
Benches are located outside many of the stores.
Picnic tables are located across the parking lot from Subway.
Restaurants inside and right behind the mall are:

Red Robin, Wendy’s, and Dunkin Donuts (right behind the mall)
Discounts
Stop at the management office, located next to the Gap, for a shopping directory. These directories are located to the left, just as you enter the building. You may also find a list of coupons you can use during your visit. Many of the stores offer additional discounts if you have a Preferred Shopper Card. You can get one here.
When you shop at Outlets at Hershey, you won’t be disappointed ‘” you’ll find the discounts you expect from an outlet mall.
Operating Hours and Directions
Outlets at Hershey is very easy to find, since it is just down the road from Hersheypark. You can enter the following address in your GPS: 46 Outlet Square, Hershey Pennsylvania 17033 or follow these directions.
Hours of operation are Monday- Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
