If you live in the Lubbock area and your child wants to play soccer, there are many options available. Here are a few soccer leagues for kids in Lubbock.
Above
One fantastic league is Above Sports. This program has leagues throughout the country, and there are two soccer leagues in the Lubbock area. One is organized by the Southern Baptist Church, and the second by the First Baptist Church in Wolfforth. They have one hour of practice and one game per week. All families are encouraged to join. Lubbock Cancer Association
The second option is the legendary Lubbock Cancer Association. It is probably the most popular league in Lubbock. Children can play in both Spring and Fall. They don’t keep score, and teams can practice twice a week. The games were always held on Saturdays.
They also offer a league for kids under 4. Their mission is to “Teach, educate, inspire and inspire a love of soccer through a friendly, supportive and non-competitive approach.” Visit the page here for full details on how to sign your child up.
Lubbock Church Athletic Association
The third choice is the LCAA. They are non-competitive and fun. Soccer usually happens in indoor-soccer, and the player wants to play in the spring. Sometimes they will even spend the winter indoors. They usually don’t make parties for a week. (Although the first 3 sessions are practice times.) Visit the LCAA website here for more information about this soccer league in Lubbock. West Texas Premier Soccer League
If your child is more advanced, one league to try is the West Texas Premier Soccer League. Their games are sometimes played on Sundays. They are very attractive. You can find out more about this league on this website.
Lubbock Indoor Soccer
Lubbock offers indoor soccer leagues for both adults and children. You can form your own team, or sign up to be on the free agent list. They are located in south Lubbock near 118th and Indiana. Check out their website here for full details.
If your child is ready to play on a team but would like to take a soccer class, check out the local community center. Maxey Community Center and Hodges Community Center often offer youth soccer classes for kids under 10. Visit the park and Lubbock. recreation website here for schedule. Boot camps are also offered in Lubbock each summer. The soccer team organizes a great camp for LCU. Check the website here for dates. Texas Tech also hosts a fantastic camp for ages 4-12. They have both day and attacks of disease. Visit the website here for more details.
