After reading a review on how wonderful The Spin Spa Spinning Shower Brush was, I felt compelled to write my own not so wonderful review to set the record straight about how well this piece of plastic worked for me.
What Is It:
It is what it is, is what it is. It is seriously as the product name describes. It is a brush for you to use in the shower. Only it is supposedly supposed to be better than your standard shower brush, because the head on this sucker spins…thus creating more suds, getting you cleaner, and all of that yummy delicious shower stuff.
The promise seemed wonderful. I was caught up watching a TV show when the commercial zapped onto my TV set. There it was, 30 seconds of pure bliss on my TV. I imagined using this nifty device. Imagined being able to add in any soap I wanted, and it would spin and create lovely scented suds. (My choice of soap scent of course).
The Spin Spa also came with 5 attachment heads, all 5 with different functions. One piece is used to exfoliate, another is used as a massage, and then you have your microdermabrasion, cleansing head, and pedicure attachment.
It all seemed to good to be true, and all for only $19.99. Why not I told myself? I love showering! I love the fact that I can add my own soap to the wand.
So my Spin Spa arrives at my door about a week later, and of course I want to put it to use right away.
The first attachment I used was the exfoliation head. It slipped into the groove properly, and didn’t fall off, but sadly when I went to use it in my shower, it was just awkward. Reaching my back was a lot more difficult and annoying then the commercial had led me to believe. While attempting to use the exfoliator I was disappointed, because the overall result felt like nothing.
Even with the stupid thing spinning… I still had to work to feel any results .
Next I tried out the standard cleansing head. What a goddamn disappointment this piece was. This attachment would most likely of been my favorite, because t has that shower poof type material that all of my shower sponges are made of (soft netting). However when I added my special body wash, it was not filling the cleaner head at all… no suds. I look down at the wand, and I see that my body wash is leaking out of the sides of the wand.
Basically the soap dispenser area is crap. If you are going to use it with soap, you have to pour it directly on to the attachment cleansing head.
Even when pouring right on the poof, it still produced close to nothing when it came to suds, and I still had to work at it myself to get semi decent results.
After screwing around with the cleanser piece, I then popped in the pumice stone type head piece, for my feetsies. The result was again horrid. It tickled, but was not powerful enough to do anything of benefit.
The massage attachment is also nothing more than a rubbery waste of natural resources. It does not do a thing.
The Spin, in the Spin Spa sucks. It’s just too weak to work well. It should spin faster, the way it is designed now, is flawed.
The second time trying to use the Spin Spa was when it came to its end. As I was working on my back, due to the fact that you have to use your own muscle power to get any type of bubbly lather the stupid thing broke. I guess I pressed down too hard or something, and it’s gears in the head went out of whack.
Overall:
Stick to your bath puff, loofah, or whatever it is you use. The Spin Spa is a waste of money.
