Finding it difficult to get out of bed and go for a walk? We all want to live a healthy lifestyle, but it seems like some of us don’t have the energy to initiate the movement to start doing the activity. Sometimes if we just write down how we feel, you may find out some things about yourself you weren’t aware of before. Lets take a look.
Writing our feelings and activities down on paper or on the computer has somewhat of a therapeutic effect. It can lead us into discovering our habits-good or bad. You could find out that you have a pattern of always waiting until the last minute to do things or you don’t eat as healthy as often as you should. You may find that you have a fear of trying out new and unusual activities-but whatever it may be, you find out about you. Not that you didn’t already know yourself, but when do we take the time to analyze and to delve into what makes us do what we do. And when we find these things out-we can make adjustments for improving our lives. Once you get a grasp of who you are through your writing, you can take a better look at what activities will assist you to a healthy lifestyle.
Keeping a journal is all about expression-so how long to write each day is up to you and how you feel on that day. Pick a suitable fitness program and then record your progress each day on your journal. Say for instance you plan to go to the gym every other day and ride your bike on the opposite days you go to the gym. On Day 1, you can talk about how you feel starting this program and what you hope to accomplish and so forth. If you are a person who forgets where your keys are or you can’t remember to take your medicine, then you will probably forget to journal as well. Place some kind of reminder somewhere whether it be a note on the refrigerator or the placement of your journal on top of your nightstand.
When you record your thoughts and motivations-you can see what you have accomplished and what more you have left to do.
A journal can lead us to a different perspective as time goes on-it can give us clarity, an unheard voice, relief as well as laughter. And in light of these facts, as the pages of our journal continue-our healthy lifestyle increases and gets even better, not just from participating and continuing a workout regiment, but the fact that we are embracing a sound and improved well being will always be a great way to start anything.
I find writing very healing and have decided to create an online journal to promote my healthy lifestyle. An excellent resource that promotes healthy and fit living is Active-Fitness.org.
