In all of my years of buying and wearing makeup, I never thought I would be getting an instructional audio with the product as well. When I first saw Stila’s new Talking Palettes I knew I had to have one. Not only do you receive the quality, award winning, Stila makeup, but you also receive your own personal makeup artist in a box!
The Purrfect Eyes Talking Palette comes with four-pan palettes of eye shadow, a small slanted eye shadow brush and a liquid eyeliner in black color. The box also comes with a button, that when pressed it literally tells you how, where and when to apply the shadows on your eyelids. The voice is a recording of an actual Stila makeup artist, who gives you tips on how to apply the base color, the lid and the contour shade. Who knew your eyelids came in so many “parts”?
The four colors that come with the Purrfect Eyes Palette are:
Base shade in a neutral light beige
Lid shade in Kitten Eye Shadow
Contour shade in warm creamy beige
Black liner shade in Black Cat, which also has a bit of glitter in it
The colors are neutral and beige, which makes them easy to pair up with your other Stila eye shadows. I’ve mixed them with grayish colors and saphire as well. Even though they come in a pack, they can easily be used with different Stila products to get whatever look you are going for. The colors available in Purrfect Eyes Palette are also great for day or evening wear. I leave out the liquid eyeliner during the day, but do add it at night for a more dramatic look.
One bonus I really liked with this is the slanted eyeliner brush. I think it can be used with any of your favorite eyeliner. I’ve also dampened the brush before dipping it in the Black Cat shade. I’ve also put the powder liner over the liquid eyeliner. The Black Cat shade has a bit of glitter in it, making your eyeliner sparkle without looking tacky. The product also does not smudge. I’ve worn it for hours at a time without having it wear off or smudge all over the place.
Although all the voice instructions of Purrfect Eyes Palette are very easy to understand and follow, one thing it does not do is give instructions on when to apply the liquid eyeliner. The pamphlet instructions that come with the product state that you can do this in under one minute. I’ve owned it for weeks now and I have not managed to apply all of the eyeshadows and the liners on in under a minute. I don’t know if this is impossible or if you just have to get used to it enough to do it quickly.
Overall, I believe the product is excellent quality and does give you the desired cat-eye effect. The Kitten Eye Shadow is one of my favorite eyeshadows that Stila makes. When it first came out years ago, it was sold-out in stores because it was so high in demand! The value of Stila Purrfect Eyes – The Talking Palette is inexpensive ($45 at Sephora), especially considering that one pot of Stila eyeshadow alone can cost $18.
Stila Purrfect Eyes – The Talking Palette is a product that I am very satisfied with and I look forward to trying their additional Talking Palettes. I would recommend this product to all makeup loving divas, as well as to anyone looking for a perfect gift.
