It’s said that about 85 percent of all woman (white/black/seniors/teens) have or will develop stretch marks. That’s a big number! Unfortunately, I have been one of those women for the past five years. I developed terrible stretch marks on my hips … extremely bad on my left hip. Over the years I have tried everything. If it said “decreases stretch marks,” I bought it. And like millions of women, I was disappointed. After spending hundreds of dollars on lies and empty promises, I decided I would just have to learn to live with my skin the way it was. I quit buying creams and lotions, and I just gave up.
Until one day, when I passed the StriVectin display at Dillard’s, something caught my eye. I read in huge letters “BETTER THAN BOTOX.” Unaware of what strivectin was or that it was a stretch mark cream, the slogan alone was enough to peak my interest. That’s a pretty bold claim to make, so I decided to check out what was claiming to be “better than Botox.” Gazing at the sky high prices of products that StriVectin carries, I was surprised to see that there was a stretch mark cream amoungst them. A sales woman came over to me and asked if I needed help. I asked her what StriVectin was and what’s with the high prices. She said it is the most popular antiwrinkle cream on the market for the past few years, and the prices are high because StriVectin actually works. I asked her if she had used it and she replied “yes, and I got amazing results.” By this time I was interested enough to learn more about the product, possibly even buy it…but not without a bit more reasearch. If you have seen the price of StriVectin, you know that it’s an investment! You have to shell out big bucks for this product, so I needed to be 100% convinced of what I was getting into. I went online and the first site I visited was the Strivectin website. The site has numerous testimonials by doctors, dermatologist, and probably one of the strangest background stories ever. According to the StriVectin Web site, “when we first handed out samples of the StriVectin formula to employees and customers as part of our market research, the sample tubes were simply marked “topical cream” with the lot number underneath,” Ms. Gay explains. As the samples were passed to friends and family, the message became a little muddled and some people used this “topical cream” as a facial moisturizer. As we began to receive feedback from users, like “I look 10 years younger” and “I can’t even notice my crows’ feet” we knew we had something more than America’s most effective stretch-mark cream. The point was driven home as store owners began reporting that almost as many people were purchasing StriVectin as an anti-wrinkle cream as were buying it to reduce stretch marks.”
A reported 93% of women reported significant improvement in the apperance of their stretchmarks. The hundreds of user reviews I went through were what I was waiting to hear. I went online to see if I could find the product cheaper, and I did! StriVectin SD 6-ounce tube sells at retailers for $195, but I got mine on amazon for an unbelievable $60! I was so happy! As soon as my order arrived in the mail, I started using as directed- three times a day, everyday for about a month.
So did it work? Yes! I am one of the millions of women who have finally found the answer to getting rid of their stretch marks.
Is StriVectin really “better than Botox?” Not exactly. Botox is ment to be a quick fix that provides instant results. On the other hand, StriVectin is unarguably a better investment in the long run. Botox is a procedure that requires constant maintanence and wears off. StriVectin works slower, but is more effective at actually getting rid of the problem, not just covering it up like Botox.
