“Sweet Petals”- a Bodycology Spray Review

Bath and Body Works happens to be my choice when purchasing any type of body spray.

They are a bit more expensive than drugstore brands, but to me, they are worth it.

Last year for Christmas, I decided to just buy my mom one of those body sprays from the brand “Bodycology” instead. She is not a big perfume wearer, so I knew she wouldn’t mind getting something that wasn’t so costly.

I bought the body spray in the scent “sweet petals”. Bodycology calls their sprays “body mists” and they retail for around $4 or so, depending on the store. I happened to buy this particular spray at my local Wal-Mart.

The bottle is quite large for the price, containing 8 fl. oz. of spray.

The bottle is a classic type with a spray trigger at the top that is revealed when you take off the clear plastic lid.

The lid, of course, has since been lost, but it doesn’t seem to have made the scent change in any way by not having it completely closed off.

The packaging has bright pink and white flowers on it. This seems a little tacky for my taste. I prefer sleeker simple packaging on perfumes and body sprays.

The smell is actually what you buy a product like this for and I first thought that it was nice and something my mom would enjoy.

I was over at her home one day and decided to try it and was amazed at how nasty and sweet the smell was on my skin.

I don’t know if the scent has changed in the past few months or not, but something in it is so sickingly sweet that it made me feel sick to my stomach.

I usually don’t like too sweet of a scent anyways, but I thought it would be more floral, which it is certainly not.

It is not a sweet vanilla or cake smell, but an artificial sugar that almost burns your nose when inhaled.

I thought that it might fade, but it doesn’t. The scent lingered on my skin for a while and I had to wash it off.

I had only sprayed my arms and tried to rinse the sent off with no avail.

Even when you spray it in the air, it lingers so long that I have to leave the room.

The bottle is almost out as my mom continues to use it. She is the type of person who will use it until its gone as to not waste. I honestly don’t know how she can stand it.

It eventually dissipates, sort of all at once, and you’re left with just a faint reminder of the nasty smell that once was.

I will never buy this product for myself or repurchase it for my mom.

I should have spent 3x the amount on something that actually smells decent.

Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

I have tried other Bodycology scents that were alright, but this “sweet petals” scent is one of the worst body sprays I have ever smelled.

This has been my opinion only. For more information on Bodycology’s scents, please visit their website, here.
