Tasty Bluefish Recipes

Bluefish are an aggressive species that is favored by English sportsmen in the Atlantic Ocean. Small fish are esteemed edible by some, and equally despised by others as table food. There may be some truth in the fact that bluefish prefer to be taken from colder northern waters than those that suggest southern waters.

Be that as it may, I have always found a sweet blue fish if caught in a small quantity (not over 5 pounds), such as sweet blue snapper and white it almost surpasses the red and the gray flesh of the greater capella blue. Bluefish are one of the most exciting game fish to get involved in on light tackle, and will make you a great dinner if you cook it right.

Southport Cooks Bluefish

2 pounds of bluefish fillets
4 tablespoons of butter
1 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1 stalk of celery, chopped
a cup of diced mushrooms
2 teaspoons basil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ Grease a large pan with butter, add and cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Remove the wine and add it. Let’s cook for 5 more minutes then put the blue ribbons on top. Pour the lemon juice over the bluefish. Close the lid and cook for 15 minutes. Salt to taste. Serves 5-6.

Unfair Ocean Island Blue Stew

2 pounds of bluefish fillets
1 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 stalk of celery, diced
1 cup spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
2 cups cooked pasta (rotten shells or any shape)
Italian salad dressing
2 tablespoons of oil

Marinade Italian blue cheese salad dressing and tomatoes (chilled). Heating oil in a large sauce pan and sauté the random herbs for about 10 minutes on medium heat. Cut the blueberry into bite-sized chunks, and make the blueberry marinade in the pan with the vegetables. Add the spaghetti sauce and cook for about 15 minutes. Add the cooked pasta and give it a go. Grilled Snapper Bluefish

Blue snapper are small, and the sweetest are those that weigh a pound or less each. Check the size limits in the state you are fishing to keep in sight of bluefish snapper.

8 snapper bluefish, dressed
oil from olive trees
salt
pepper
lemon juice

Rub the whole hyacinth with oil, and sprinkle with lemon juice. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes on each side. Great with wild rice. Saves 4

Cheesy-Fried Bluefish

2 pounds of bluefish fillets
1 cup of milk
I have a cup of dry bread crumbs
¼ Add the oregano, garlic powder and salt to the crumbs and mix well. Dip the ribbons in the milk and crumb mixture. Place in a well-greased pan, a pad of butter on top of each strip. Bake for 10 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Top the fillets with cheese alum (enough to cover each fillet) 1 minute before the fish is done so that it melts through the fillets .
