I co-founded a photography business a few months ago and decided it was time to figure out where our prints were made professionally at a reasonable price and of excellent quality. Many different companies came to mind, however, I felt that the better solution would be to release the images and apologize for the publication. I have put together a list of two different printing companies that I feel meet our quality needs!
Mpix is a very efficient service that provides high quality images at a low price with reasonable shipping charges and excellent color quality. For these reasons, Mpix quickly jumped into our top ten list after we started following them. Although the images looked a bit dark for our taste, we adjusted the color to our end and got the results we were looking for with a little tweaking in Photoshop. Now I understand that many people just want to send their photos so that they can be printed without Photoshopping and this can be done with Mpix. Mpix offers many other photo editing options for people who do not have the knowledge or market and it is quite affordable. With Mpix, just upload photos and access to buy different photo services. For just a few cents, Mpix will remove spots, freckles, and other various facial features that you want to remove. In addition, they will provide free color correction and free photo filters (black and white and sepia tone).
Another great feature is the package you get from MPIX on delivery. Mpix takes all photographic precautions by providing the best cardboard packaging and shrink wrap to ensure maximum safety from all shipping mishaps. With this speed and shipping rate, we have decided to continue using MPIX to print our further products. We feel that with prices and quality, our customers get the most out of their photographs.
Snapfish is the closest company we continue to use to print photos. Color quality and image quality alone exceed expectations and are as good as MPIX in this respect. Snapfish offers many custom photo gifts, such as Mpix, however Snapfish offers much more than most companies. One area I wasn’t very impressed with was the wallet from Snapfish. Snapfish printed four bags on one 4×6 piece of paper and cut them out. Not only was it difficult to cut, but the size of the images was smaller than the size of the bag. We have decided not to use Snapfish for wallets in the future.
In comparison, both companies offer great products and therefore it is important to choose a few different companies that offer products that the other does not. We look forward to continuing our business with Mpix, and seeing where we end up with Snapfish in the next few months.
