Many of you know the term profiler. A profiler is a highly trained person who analyzes a murder scene and can make an informed deduction about the type of killer who committed the crime. There are only a few (if any) true profilers within the United States. In the 1960s, history began to progress. The nation saw an increase in homicides in the 1950s and 1960s. However, people were concerned about a large percentage of those murders by strangers. Because of the new murders, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has created a scientific behavior (FBI) also called B.S.U. ). The Behavioral Science Unit was established by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s headquarters in Quantico, Virginia.
