Degeneration X was one of the most popular stables in WWE history, consisting of Triple H and Shawn Michaels as original members. Once Shawn Michaels left Triple H’s team it became bitter and this eventually led to animosity between the two wrestlers. As a result, several great and best matches have come for both of these WWE superstars. Here is a look at the best Triple H and Shawn Michaels match in WWE history.
Summerslam ’02: Shawn Michaels’ first match in four years, starting back in 2002 at Summerslam, was uncredited. The week before Triple H smashed Shawn Michaels in a car window and Michaels wanted his revenge. These two beat the bloody hell out of each other, and although Shawn Michaels got the victory, it wasn’t long before Triple H slammed him with his sledgehammer. That was such a fierce battle.
Survivor Series: The 2002 Survivor Series saw the debut of the Elimination Chamber and both men inside with Kane, Booker T, RVD , and Chris Jericho. Glass was broken and a lot of blood was lost as six wrestlers fought it out, but Shawn Michaels overcame the odds and was the World title once again. He did this by last man in the room, leaving Triple H, and getting his second victory.
Armageddon ’02: Triple H still wasn’t done with Michaels and this time he took him on in a three-steps-from-hell match at Armageddon. First in a street-fighting”>street fight where Triple H fought, then Shawn Michaels won a steel cage match; In the final round, Triple H defeated Michaels by throwing multiple boards and taking the title in a 35-minute match.
Wrestlemania 20: In 2004, the feud between Triple H and Shawn Michaels reigned and this began at Wrestlemania 20. Shawn Michaels had the world title shot, and Triple H became the World Heavyweight Champion. Also involved in the mix was Royal Murmur Chris Benoit, a triple threat title match at Wrestlemania. . Shawn Michaels always puts on a great match at Wrestlemania and this was no different with all three wrestlers working well in a triple threat match and putting on the toughest match ever. Both Triple H and Shawn Michaels would lose in this match though, with Chris Benoit defeating Triple H and becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Bad Blood 2004: Their rivalry heated up again and, when they lost all power, they were forced to engage in a Hell in a Cell match. Both have fought before, but never for long, as they fought each other for more than forty minutes. It took two streaks, but Triple H eventually saved Shawn Michaels, and won this long match as the best of both wrestlers.
They are dating now, but someday they will rekindle their rivalry and keep WWE fans happy.
