Let the dogs sleep, right? It sounds cliché for a peaceful home, but what if your dog ever lays down because it’s “Ansty” when it itches? Not only is the dog crazy trying to relieve an itch that just won’t stop, but the dog’s owner is driven to distraction by all the constant scratching and licking. Constant scratching and licking can lead to dog skin problems and even staph infections if these behaviors are allowed. to continue unharmed. Our dog, Daisy, has always had some trouble with itching and scratching. For a long time there was no evidence of any kind of skin condition or infection. Then she began to develop severe itching and red spots on her groin. Corticosteroids
Prednisone was initially prescribed along with antibiotics for Daisy to try to dramatically reduce the severe itching. The health reduced the itching somewhat, but it turned the sweet and lovable spaniel into a hungry, predatory, and ravenous food hound. She was going through several bowls of dry dog food a day and was still acting like she was starving to death. eating only visibly and quickly gained. In addition, valium is only short-term use, since it can cause long-term health problems, and when steroid therapy is delayed , the dog was slowly weaned at a cold turkey stop. Even if our dog didn’t have that ravenous hunger reaction to valium, we would be concerned about the possible health effects of using it. Prednisone was not a good solution.
Antihistamine
Our vet told us Benadryl, safe dog food in the proper dosage, so he gave it a try. . While he got the medicine (because we were wrapping it in cheese!) it didn’t seem to help the itching much, so it was Dietary Supplement
There are several nutritional supplements on the market, but our veterinarian recommended a supplement called 3V Caps Skin Formula. He said that in his experience these capsules have been known to help dramatically with itching and some in skin> dogs. 3V Caps contain fish oil, which is a source of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E, which are thought to maintain healthy skin and coat in dogs. We really doubted that 3V Caps would do much in the way of itch relief, but we had nothing to lose by trying, and “. After the dog had been taking 3V Caps for two weeks, we suddenly noticed that she wasn’t scratching as much anymore! Not only that, but all the areas on her belly and under her front feet were scratching, revealing new healthy skin underneath. Before we knew it, all the old leathery skin was gone. it was cut off, and the skin was soft, pink, and new skin old hair was growing, which was a huge improvement in that appearance.
3V Caps with liquid gold! These little miracles are incredible, and my dog does not need corticosteroids, sprays, antihistamines or anything else to finally be a real bed bug. (We use Malaseb shampoo once a week, but that’s because we feel it’s better than regular shampoos.) Don’t get me wrong, our dog still has the occasional itch, but it’s no more than you’d expect from any dog. . No more ant-dogs… in fact, the torus has become real, and with me we can finally say, “Shh! Let sleeping dogs sleep!”
