It’s almost Halloween time and many families will be heading to Halloween parties or occupying their homes. But how about visiting an entire city that celebrates its tired traditions? The town of Nightfall.
historic town Nightfall has been a tradition in southern Arizona for more than 15 years. In Old Tucson Studios, there is a 40-acre village filled with colorful houses, good life shows. food and horrible characters that will frighten faithful children of all ages.
Background
Dr. Lithistrom and Jack McHansen founded the town in 1863. However, history stretches back 20 years to Colonel Lionel Hyde. This medical doctor and psychologist Goulliard founded an asylum for the dangerously insane. In 1847, Dr. Hyde was found dead from a strange and inexplicable accident. The circumstances of his death are a mystery to this day.
Shortly after the death of Dr. Hyde, the asylum was purchased by the United States Army. Dr. Icabod Lithistrom was in charge of the former military “volunteer soldiers”. These “volunteers” helped to pursue studies on the psychological effects of war on the human mind. With so many volunteers, the town of Nightfall was soon founded.
Jack McHansen, quickly became the first major and with the help of Dr. He could run the town with an iron fist. People who chose to stay and work in the state were sworn to secrecy under the control of the state government.
By 1883, the US government had enough information about the mental breaking point that they decided to close the asylum. . However, in 1884, Dr. Jebediah Hyde, the long lost son of Lionel Hyde, suddenly and inexplicably appeared.
Dr. Lithistrom mysteriously disappeared into the desert one night, never to be heard from again, and Major Jack McHansen died of complications, while Dr. Jebediah Hyde performed minor surgery on him. The townspeople or the local landowners never questioned the unusual circumstances of the two men’s timely elimination. Instead, the new Dr. Hyde’s asylum was the head of the asylum.
During that reign, Dr. Jebediah Hyde turned the asylum into a center for experiments. He believed that with enough time to control his madness he could be cured. Often, however, his experiments left patients more disfigured and distressed than when they were first admitted to the asylum.
Like his father, Dr. Lionel Hyde, Dr. Jebediah Hyde met his death surrounded by new and inexplicable circumstances.
Activities
Every year in the town of Nightfall, several witches perform. Each one offers its own savvy, and some may be too scary for little ones. Each night there are three live shows, each of which combines Hollywood-style spectacles, special effects, pyrotechnics and, of course, stunts.
Years included the show “Evil Unbound,” where evil citizens failed and attacked an asylum. But the evil that dwelt in the town rose up to an equal force of wrath by itself. Conflict to conflict and only a movie studio can draw, explosions and destruction. Other shows were “Frightmares: Spectre’s Revenge” one word explains this live show, Zombies. The third show was “The Greatest Masochistic Lodge #666 of pain and suffering.”
Other activities include Master Morbid’s Gastly Gallery. The gallery of paintings, which everyone is madder than that, just don’t look too long or you’ll find yourself staring at the paintings. My lost souls show the waters where, walking deeper in the sea, the dead pirates want to scare you and keep you with them, always locked in a watery grave. Finally, there was the Sinister Creepy Clown Circus. This circus is like nothing you’ve ever seen, full of dark humor and pranks, straight out of insane asylum.
Information
The Dark Asylum will open on Saturday September 30 and run through October 31. The town is open to visitors only on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 6pm-10pm and on Friday and Sunday from 6pm-12am. The whole evening costs adults (12 and over) about $20, children (4-11) about $17, children under 4 are free, however please note that some activities are not available appropriate for his age The Old Tucson Studio is located at 201 St. Kinney Rd, Tucson, Arizona. The easiest way is to take the I-10 to the speedway (west) or to the I-19 Ajo (west) and follow it.
