The Lost City of Atlantis in the Bahamas

“one day and one night your body was as if sunk in the sea, the city of Atlantis.”

This nobility, included by the philosopher Plato, is the only part of the ancient writers who is said to have discovered the city. According to Plato, Atlantis was a wonderful city advanced beyond all the civilization of that time in history, but, as is said, it was destroyed in one day and night, and was thrown into the sea.

Many researchers have tried to find the city, but not much evidence has surfaced, although some have come to light. So if you are an archaeologist or a researcher and you wanted to find and prove the existence of this legendary culture, where would you go to see it? Where does the search for Atlantis really begin? Well, you can find everything you need to travel across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Bahamas is a place that many hold as the key to the ancient city of Atlantis. Edgar Cayce was a man who claimed to have psychic powers. By these arts it was said to be able to see future events, and one involved the prediction of the Atlanteans. He predicted that this discovery would occur on the coast of the Bahamas, and in 1968 it was discovered on the way to Bimini.

Bimini Road is a group of unusual stones that were found off the coast of an island in the Bahamas. These are widely considered to be of natural formation, but many believe that the stones are too fine and well placed to be formed in nature. Rows of stones are placed in straight lines and face very distinct directional patterns. They also seem to “cut” the individual stones to fit together perfectly. Some also claimed to have found pottery and other smaller artifacts along the way, but nothing definitive has come to light.

The location in the Bahamas was also used to describe what Plato wrote about Atlantis. An island nation that was a center of commerce. The only discrepancy is that there is no visible mountain in the Bahamas, which would account for the reason that Plato told, although it is possible that the cataclysm that destroyed Atlantis also destroyed this sound, because we see mountains on the islands. The way Atlantis was destroyed by the “Swallowed Sea” and this could mean a tsunami. Since the tsunami that devastated Thailand in 2005, scientists have developed methods to distinguish the risks of certain areas due to the risk of a tsunami, and the islands in and around the Bahamas have indeed been calculated. A single mountain slide off the coast of Africa could cause a mega tsunami, one that would dwarf the 2005 tsunami in size and power.

Hurricanes could also be blamed for the destruction of Atlantis if it was placed in the Bahamas. Category four and five storms with wind speeds exceeding 150+ miles per hour easily leveled buildings and other structures and the storm generated low lying cities, so the possibility of natural disaster to strike an ancient city as magnificent and advanced as Atlantis is there and we see these forces in our world today.

Was Atlantis actually located in the Bahamas? And what exactly is a structure to know like the Bimini Way? The evidence is there, and science alone tells us if the lost city of Atlantis was indeed located in this area, and if it was not, the search will continue.
