Today it is reported that the Vatican has released a new list of the 7 deadly sins. This list does not replace the original list of the 7 deadly sins, but simply adds to it.
We are asked as Catholics how we feel about these new mortal sins. Personally, as someone who grew up Catholic, I’ve had a lot to deal with over the years because the rules of religion seem to be constantly changing. I wondered this in the past seasons, what was taught in the Church, what God wants us to know and believe, and what God wants us to abide by, or if these are commandments that were simply made by a bunch of people. He was sitting around the table taking his lunch.
We also believe that the original sins mortal sins came directly from God and were revealed by one of the elect. with whom he wished to communicate. This storm, true or not of the original 7 Deadly Sins, certainly made a lot of sense. they were clear, easy to understand and to the point.
For those who are to be enumerated a little of the original mortified sins are these:
Pride (Vanity – Now there is no evil in pride, but in what is said in God, and in the shadows he believes in God.
Envy – Excessive envy of other people’s possessions, abilities or attributes.
Gluttony – They usually eat too much. You eat more than you, the body needs to survive, Gluttony is supposed.
Libido – It is more than a healthy need to fulfill sexual desires
Wrath (wrath>) reject love and wish for anger.
Avarice – When the desire for money overcomes the need for spiritualization.
Laziness – Those who labor both physically and spiritually.
New deadly sins seem to have been completely uprooted from the state of our world, who called the current problems and scientific research. This only seems to prove that these new 7 capital sins are made by man, and that they come from the opinion and sense of men rather than from God. The new catalog also includes certain sins, which are really very obscure, it is not explained how far some of these new mortal sins originate or what is meant by them. This is the list of the last 7 mortal sins;
* Human experiments
* Polluting Works
* Social injustice
* Helpless
* Financial gluttony
* Taking drugs
Taking drugs – Of these new 7 deadly sins, only one of them is the most obvious in my opinion. Taking drugs is quite easy to understand. One can of course ask if this only refers to illegal or recreational drugs or all drugs. It is assumed that this mortal sin does not qualify for the prescribed medicines.
Genetic Modifications – Genetic modifications by definition is the removal of a gene associated with a disadvantageous trait by using certain treatments to do so. It can be thought that the human body can be scientifically changed in this way. This can change genes, but it can also provide a chance for people to remove certain inherent physical characteristics, to remove certain conditions and diseases. I do not know whether the full argument of the Church is against this, indeed it is necessary to try it before their judgment will pass judgment on this matter. The intention is not to judge the choices by which one may commit this deadly sin, to wonder why God would give us the ability to learn and expand our minds to what such knowledge could be used if He did. We want to use t But this mortal sin is vague and more assignable.
Human experiments – This is my opinion which is really vague. Does this mean that a person who is dying of cancer should not try a new drug that can save his life, or help the lives of others in the future? What are we talking about here? Of course, when it comes to human experiments, we can certainly go further, but there are many cases in which it is useful and will save more lives in the future. Again, I’m not trying to judge here, but I need to know more specifically what is being asked of us as human beings.
Covenant Environment – This is pretty self-explanatory, but then again, that’s how we talk here. I’m going to hell if I use my hair, or if everything I use isn’t made from recycled products, or isn’t recyclable. How extreme is this non-pollution developer. What is considered pollution by one, is not considered pollution by another, as he speaks here? It should be noted that this specifically means a deliberate and deliberate attempt to destroy the environment. But I do not know what this is.
Social Injustice – Social injustice is the perceived unfairness of the division of rewards and responsibilities. The words and definition of the term social injustice are unclear to me. Social Injustice to me means that certain people are given certain perks or given bad conditions, which are for them. This certainly still happens in some countries in this world, but that’s as far as we have to go with those terms. Or should someone be punished because they were born into wealth? I think, indeed, that although some of us have some social advantage, yet in the majority of the civilized world all have the same capacity as all for great things. It may be more difficult for some, and some may end up in more difficult situations, but if they want to overcome their circumstances, they certainly can. While social injustice exists, I don’t understand the extent to which it is a sin for us to be socially unjust. Personally, I have never held back anyone, however, my spouse and working with our children have held back everything. we can give possible benefits in life. Does that make us socially un- just because some children are born to less powerful or less caring parents, they can’t or do. not the same for children? This is again vague.
Causing poverty – Again this is vague. I am sure that most of us contribute to poverty without realizing it. Most of us do not have the ability to bring all our lack to others, but we can certainly contribute to it. Maybe some car company is going to go under, I’m contributing to poverty by not buying one of those cars, to help those who work for that company so you don’t lose your jobs? Are there those who develop new technologies, replacing the shortage of jobs made by machines? In this place we sin. For those of us who are not just, how much could they contribute to the poverty of others?
Financial Gluttony – Gluttony is an excess of what we need. Does this mean that every successful celebrity, professional athlete or successful CEO is a sinner? Does it mean that if we rely on the current economic situation that we are sinners? If someone does a great job, or is he recognized for his talent, attribute, or work, and he makes the best reward for these sinners? If someone is born to their means and has more money than they can spend anywhere, are they sinners? Do we perhaps make a mistake by playing the lottery? After all, if I won the lottery, I would suddenly have more money than I actually need now. In the same way riches become greedy, where is the sin? The present or old mortal sin of avarice, where the desire for riches overcomes the need for spiritualization, I think has been very well and brilliantly treated of the pecuniary matter. From this new capital sin it seems to be said that all the rich are sinners. I may be completely wrong, but until this is further defined, how do we know?
I am not saying that these new capital sins are right and wrong. I mean very vaguely. We have now been given a list of sins, but no one has taken the time to explain what it all means. Are we subject to certain people or groups of people’s opinions? Do they rightly judge us as such, or have they gone further? These new 7 Deadly Sins only served to confuse me.
If the Vatican is going to list things so important that we may be damned for eternity, I really need to be more specific about their meanings.
