Throughout the history of sports and athletics, athletes have sought glory and cheered on the impossible. Athens also from the birth of Greece. The Olympics in those days was a serious and elaborate spectacle. Over a period of time, civilizations developed and took on a competitive nature. This is still present to this day, starting with the 2012 Olympics. Even though some moments of the season have been removed, the Olympics are still the pinnacle of setting new records, achieving new achievements, and capturing the glory of athletes homeland. I only started watching the Olympics in 2010, because the winter games were held in Canada. As a Canadian, I’m always proud of what we’ve done, and the moments I remember from our accomplishments. Today, I will share my moment in the Olympics. Here’s my favorite moment from the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia.
It was early Friday evening and I had just pulled into my driveway. It was opening night of the 2010 Winter Games and my two sons were sitting in bed. They were waiting for me; they all wanted to watch the opening ceremony. Despite being a proud Canadian I felt the urge to go straight to bed. I was persuaded to stay and keep her, and I would not regret it. The opening ceremony began with Johnny Lyall, a Canadian snowboarder. You see, Lyall was shown riding a mountain, and through the torches formed which resembled a Maple Leaf. When I watched it on tv, I knew what the Opening Ceremony was going to be. After the video ended, Lyall flew through the Olympic rings and the ceremony began. James and Nick were both excited when Lyall flew through the rings; My children loved the opening ceremony. Then, the national anthem was sung and the ceremony continued.
There could have been other moments that I could have chosen from myself, but I decided that the opening ceremony was the most important moment in the Olympics. It was my favorite because it showed the true power and culture of Canada. Weeks before it started, my friends were excited from work and worried about the Olympics being held in Canada. Many people thought that Canada was a friendly and forgiving country, but it could quickly become confusing and confusing. The opening ceremony proved him wrong, and the ceremony lit up the hearts of all Canadians. It shows that we can shake the world, and that we can do anything if we put our minds to it.
