The Pirogue Grille in Bismarck, North Dakota

Pirogue Grille is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it – but you should be looking. It is one of the best restaurants in Bismarck, with an interesting and ever-changing menu, offering new cuisine in total to satisfy a healthy appetite.

Grille Pirogue is one of Bismarck’s newest non-chain restaurants, opening just a short while ago in the downtown area. Located at 121 No. 4th Street, it is sandwiched between a jewelry store and a men’s clothing store, and its rather modest exterior is pleasing. gives little indication of the interior. But the word pours forth from person to person. If you want a really beautiful dinner, an evening to remember for a long time, go to the Grill.

With the word “Pirogue” in the title, I, like many others, am ready to think Cajun food offering, spicy and all blackened. But that is not the case at all. The opening, which he made during the Lewis and Clark bicentennial, is referred to as a single boat named “Pirogue”. If you happen to read anything about their journey, you will read about the pirate who raised them so well. Pirogue Grille offers food from a variety of different cuisines, fresh ingredients, appropriate spices, and some of the foods Lewis and Clark were able to taste and have something for all but the pickiest of eaters.

Pirogue Grille serves dinner only, and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. at 11 a.m. When you enter the door from the street, you enter a calm and quiet place, with subdued light, and are greeted by a friendly hostess, who will take your coat and hang it up for you. It is a comfortable place to sit if you need to wait for a table or wait at the market. until the end of the dining room. One of the things that sets Pirogue Grille apart from many other restaurants is the quiet atmosphere. The goal is for patrons to enjoy a great meal in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, to linger over coffee or drinks and conversations, and to feel a little disappointed when it is time to go out and go home, and in this they succeed remarkably well.

Offers change frequently, making it difficult to review menus or prices. Prices range from $7 to $10 for appetizers, soups and salads, and from $18 to $25 for entrees.

To go with your meal, Pirogue Grille has a wine cellar wine cellar, and your waiter will be knowing what goes well with the meal you’ve chosen. The restaurant also has a full drink menu, along with signature drinks such as the Pirogue Martini. The table will be read to you by your server because it changes on an almost daily basis.
