The Reefs Hotel in Bermuda – Review

A recent trip to Bermuda took us to the Reefs Hotel where we had a wonderful stay. I enjoy splitting my vacations between various resorts in the area, and this was my favorite of the three that I stayed at in Bermuda. The Cliffs were recently named in the 2009 Travel and Leisure World Best Awards which remain such a popular story.

This hotel is on the smaller side with only 65 rooms. It gives a very homey feel and plenty of staff to get to know the guests and treat them to great use. Many of the staff members seem to have been there forever, as I spoke with three who think they have been working there for at least 10 years each year.

The rooms are on the expensive side because it is such an upscale hotel. The cheapest rooms go for about $600 per night. The main feature is that all guests have an ocean view, so you can’t be stuck in a bad place. There are also cabins with one to four rooms in each. They are a little bit from the high hotels that allow guests to have extra privacy in them. Everyone has a private hot tub outside.

The Rock has all the facilities you would expect from this hotel. The beaches are secluded, which are quite empty most of the time. Beach chairs and umbrellas are always available for use on the beach. There are three restaurants and two bars. La Serena Spa offers all spa services of its kind and has the best service, overlooking the ocean. The spa was fully booked while we were there, so make sure to make reservations well in advance if you are interested. A fully equipped fitness center and two tennis courts.

the on-site restaurants all have excellent food. Ocean Echo is a romantic dining restaurant that offers seafood pasta, and daily Bermudian sweet treats. Coconuts are very close to the ocean, so they make a great pleasure to have dinner facing the sunset. While all the restaurants are very nice, I would prefer the casual option so that you don’t have to go to fine dining. Dinner between the nights

Scopuli is a good hotel for couples, but not very family friendly. My kids were not impressed by the food and wanted to do more activities. But, my husband and I would have no problem spending the relaxation there.
