The Bold & the Beautiful is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. This half hour soap opera is set in the fashion world of Los Angeles. I will look back at the top ten storylines on The Bold & the Beautiful.
The number ten storyline would be Morgan DeWitt kidnapping Taylor Forrester. Morgan at one time dated Ridge Forrester, and when she came back to L.A. years later she became obsessed with Ridge. She was so obsessed that she kidnap Ridge’s daughter Steffy and than wife Taylor. Eventually Ridge was able to rescue his wife and daughter from Morgan the maniac.
Number nine is Brooke Logan’s affair with Deacon Sharpe. What made this affair scandalous, was that Deacon was married to Brooke’s daughter Bridget at the time. Their affair was expose when Brooke became pregnant with Deacon’s daughter.
Number eight is Sally Spectra marrying Clark Garrison. Sally Spectra played by the late Darlene Connolly had the ability to make every scene she was in memorial. Sally’s marriage to the younger Clark help bring some humor to the show.
Number seven is when Sheila Carter shot Stephanie Forrester. Sheila is one of the biggest psychos is daytime and she was fed up with Stephanie interfering in her life, so she shot the Forrester matriarch and left town with her baby daughter.
Number six is when Stephanie Forrester confronts her mother Ann Douglas about the abuse she suffered from her father as a child. This storyline help to explain how Stephanie turned out the way she did. Another highlight of the story is that Ann was played by Betty White.
Number five is when Amber Moore took her cousin Becky’s baby and tried to pass it off as her own. When Amber’s baby was stillborn, she thought the best way to hold on to her husband Rick was to lie to him about their baby’s death and tell him that Becky’s baby was theirs.
Number four is when Stephanie found out that her daughter Angela who had been in a coma for years was actually an actress hired by the director of the home care facility that Stephanie had been keeping Angela in. The real Angela had died years ago, and the director of the home hired the actress, so he could continue receiving money from Stephanie.
Number three is when Sheila Carter first arrived in Los Angeles after leaving Genoa City. After committing multiple crimes in Genoa City, Sheila was able to escape to L.A. and begin a new life. She even married Eric Forrester. Eventually Sheila was expose and she became an even bigger menace while she lived in L.A.
Number two is the love triangle between Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor. Soap operas are known for there love triangles and this one has been going on for years.
The number one storyline is Stephanie Forrester vs. Brooke Logan. These two have been at each others throats practically the whole twenty years that the show has been on. Stephanie never thought Brooke was good enough for her son Ridge, so she has look down on Brooke for years. Brooke has given Stephanie plenty of reasons not to like her, by marrying both of Stephanie’s sons and also marrying and having children with Stephanie’s husband Eric. What really has made this storyline work all these years is the chemistry between the two actresses Susan Flannery and Katherine Kelly Lang.
Even though The Bold & the Beautiful is often over the top and campy, they have occasionally put together some interesting storylines.
