Have you ever seen those little Michelin dinners in the freezer section of your grocery store? Or rather, have you bought and tasted them? TV lunches are usually poorly packaged, but these boxed boxes contain some tasty treats. They usually provide TV dinners. You know the classic menu – meatloaf, sliced turkey and gravy, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and hammered fish. Michelina uses a wide variety of dishes. In fact, the company makes five different brands of frozen entrees. These are Authentico, Lean Gourmet, Yu Sing, Signature and Zap Em’s. These brands offer pasta flavors, meat, chicken, rice, meat and vegetarian entrees. Some of their menu includes Chicken Lo Mein, Beef Pot Roast, Pepper Steak with Rice, Pizza Taste, Alpheus Fried Rice and Glass Chicken. Jeno Francesco Paulucci was born to Italian immigrants during the Great Depression. Ettore’s father was a miner, and Michelina’s mother ran a small grocery store in Minnesota. Jeno started selling fruits and vegetables when he was just ten years old. He started this job as a way to help his struggling family. But Jeno Paulucci has harnessed her industry and business acumen to turn it into a successful career in the food industry.
Now in his eightieth year, Paulucci has racked up a huge amount of things and honors. He brought back the world of “Jeno’s Pizza Rolls” and “When the King of Chinese Food”. Also Luigino’s writer, Incorporated, which founded the company behind the Michelin and Donec Gourmet frozen entree brands. It also has more than 65 brand names to its credit.
The name “Michelin” was coined by the entrepreneur’s mother. Because, like Colonel Harland Sanders, who used his mother’s “finger lickin'” recipe to build a government; Jeno Paulucci started using his mother’s delicious recipe to make his own food entrees. He also placed a picture of his mother in every package in her honor.
Jeno Paulucci was elected to the Ernst & Young “Greatest Entrepreneur” for many years. This entrepreneur is a patented inventor and civic activist who has advised seven presidents in his lifetime, including George W. Bush.
Although he works long hours running his business and interests, Paulucci is committed to his family. Lloyd was married to his wife for almost 60 years. Their union created three children and two more generations of the family.
