Karrrine Steffans made a name for herself in Hollywood social circles while she was an up and coming actress struggling to make a living by being a video dancer. With her new book, Diaries of a Video Vixen (Grand Central Publishing) Steffans shows how much she has grown as a writer and a person in general. She wants to leave the days of her troubled past behind and concentrate on making a name for herself in the publishing world and as a parent to her son.
In Diaries she discusses two main relationships, one with Bobby Brown and one with Bill Maher and she also talks about other relationships or friendships she has made since the first debut of her book. She says Bill Maher is the man she hopes to marry while Bobby is described as a great friend. She also described Brown’s downward spiral of destruction, depression and abuse during the ending of his marriage to pop superstar Whitney Houston. She was there for him as a friend.
Her first book had people trying to guess the name of one famous celebrity who was not disclosed but was revealed in Diaries.
In Diaries, Steffans discuss the highs and lows of her career and explains how her experiences have shaped her. No matter how much she has grown she is still shocked by the shallowness of the general public that still judge her by her past. The follow-up book Diaries of a Video Vixen is not as juicy but is still somewhat entertaining.
