In 1940, Langston Hughes wrote: “The word nigger is to the colored people as sharp and mean as a rag to a red bull, rightly or wrongly, ironically or seriously, necessarily for the sake of truth, or impishly for the sake of comedy[,] it does not matter. The word nigger, you see, sums it up for us all the years of abuse and struggle in colored America.”
Do you ever feel intimidated when African-americana meets you with the “n” word? I don’t really want to be African American live in America. Some uneducated people think “black” is an overuse of this term of honor, however, please differ.
Most black people who associate with the “n” word commonly use it, can’t give accurate or sustainable reasons why the word is in such heavy rotation. Maybe it’s peer pressure, a need for acceptance (which I believe is quite idiotic), or even a “tradition” for them to use the “n” word so nonchalantly. Although I can’t show it – I stumbled upon this word from a friend African objected to by a friend. I also say that my brother, who is six years older than me, does not address me there. Although he does not even follow my request, because he is six years older than me, I am able to get my point across by repeatedly showing contempt for the word.
It’s surprising that many people say that race is blind as race can take something so negative and turn it around. I’m saying why do something so shamefully bring back the African American community and tempt some Caucasians to the point where they think it’s ok to say . As always African Americans then they believe they reserve the right to anger whites for using the word as a racial slur. Over the years Jim Crow and Willie Lynch Laws white people have used the word to casually label black skin tone because it is not respectful to them they could name and sooner rather than later be called regular African Americans.
There were many Americans Africans who fought adamantly for their citizens and refused to join him. the word Those men were and are still recognized as Heroes in our society today. Malcolm X is one of many who refused to be associated with this word. Martin Luther KingJr. he fought for equality and respect for both sexes equally and respectfully. Where do you think they will have me, if they know that they have exhausted everything to fight for their own death?
The English dictionary defines the word “nigger” as: 1a. He is a black man. 1b. any of the dark skin people. 2. A person of any race or origin, contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc. Like the victim of prejudice, which the blacks suffered; the person will be economically, politically or socially evacuated. Now, black people just use an offensive version of that word all the time. Instead of condemning shows like “Boondocks” or Capella Monsters that glorify the use of slang society niggas celebrate the creators of these awesome shows and the writers honors with million dollar contracts. These shows tried to show the word in a satirical light, but there is no internet in the intellectual discussions behind the show where people can better understand the word’s origins and dangers, but we are inundated with the favorite words of our favorite characters. we show and finally end up repeating iconic phrases like “You ignorant niggas” (courtesy of “Boondocks” in our sleep. The term nigger is now probably the most offensive word in the English dictionary. Its level of offense has increased significantly. In recent years, although it has only been used derogatorily since at least the Revolutionary War. It is sometimes used neutrally or colloquially. Definition 3 is not normally reviled, as in Roddy Doyle’s Commitments—but other uses are considered contemptuous and hostile.” (Dictionary.com 2006)
During slavery, many slaves were sold by Portuguese traders to America. The Americans used to buy “Ne-gros”, which is The Spanish word is black. The master’s slaves try to pronounce the word “Ne-gro”, because of the distorted accent thus the word “Nigger”. The term did not begin to derogate; It became negative and derogatory after slavery during the civil rights movement and today. Blacks today say it means “low life man” with whom anyone can be a nigger, this comes from a lack of research. Why do many call themselves black niggers? I do not know.
There are still signs that show a lack of vocabulary. I looked up the word on Google and found it pronounced saying: “Many black people call themselves nigger, why? I don’t know, but it just means “BLACK” “But that’s not evil at all. I’m black, but I don’t refer to myself as a nigger and I would never refer to another black person as a “nigga”. However, as I said before, pop culturerap music, and the new generation’s idea of what it means to be. creative man will steadily gain access to the use of this word until all men, not just black men, think it is ugly enough to members of our immediate communities and society that they must replace it with some meaningful and imaginative word. I wonder why the words spike, kike, wet, ass, and cracker have not become household names in other races in our society. Is the black community the substandard standards of our youth and the ways in which they communicate with each other? Food for thought!
