I think that pickup lines are overrated. Basically, when you first talk to a girl, chances are good that she already knows that you like her. For that reason, pickup lines that are overly sexual or try to disguise the fact that you like her are worthless. When I first approach a woman, I’m not thinking about pickup lines. I’m totally calm and ready to enjoy a pleasant interaction. Do you want to know what my best pickup lines are? Well, I’m going to share them with you.
First I have to tell you that my all-time favorite pickup line is the following: “Hi, I’m bored. And you looked interesting so I decided to come talk to you.” You’ll notice several things about this pickup line. First, it gives you a reason for talking to her. You’re bored, and she looked interesting. Second, it doesn’t try to hide the fact that you’re interested in her. In fact, it shows that you go after things that you want, and this is attractive to women. Finally, this line isn’t flashy. It’s very realistic and doesn’t sound like a “canned” pickup line. What I mean by “canned” is a line that you read about and isn’t genuine. And to a woman, being genuine is very desirable.
Another of my favorite lines that I often use at bars and clubs is: “So what’s your story?” This line works primarily because it’s playful and inquisitive. It’s also very friendly. Another great line, similar to the first line, is, “Hey, you guys looked adorable and I wanted to see what you guys were like. Are you friendly?” Again, it’s playful and it makes your intentions clear. I think the worst lines at a bar are indirect ones like, “Hey, how’s it going?” These are lines that most people do and these will not make you stand out.
My last favorite line is anything that is situational. What I mean by that is, let’s say something goes down in the club. For instance, a girl dumps a drink onto a guy’s head. You can comment on this situation and talk about what you think happened or even a story about when this happened to you (and yes, this has happened to me). This works because it’s not “canned;” obviously, it would be impossible for this to be “canned” because the situation just happened.
So there you have it. These are lines that I’ve used hundreds of times. Although I can say with authority that you shouldn’t just rely on my lines. You should test your own and see what lines work for you. After all, each one of us is unique and we all have different personalities. And with some practice, you should see your success at talking to women skyrocket!
