If you have heard of LaGrange, Georgia it probably is because of the KIA automotive plant that is in West Point, Georgia and being that we are right next to West Point, LaGrange gets a lot of attention. However, our town is a little more then just an automotive plant that moved in an is going to boost the economy. There are many great attractions around this area that will make you fall in love with LaGrange. Listed below are a few places I picked out that I think you should check out next time you are in LaGrange, Georgia either on a vacation or just passing through.
Explorations In Antiquity Center : www.explorationsinantiquity.net
Located just inside the Industrial Park at 130 Gordon Commercial Drive the Exploration in Antiquity Center is a place that will walk you through the biblical times. Inside the center you will be able to see the bible come to life with live replica creations of the desert oasis, well and watering troughs and many more. You can either have a walkthrough with a lecture explaining how the life of a shepard, farmer lived through the village of exhibits, or you can bump that tour up with a biblical meal as well. Along with the tours lecture and exhibits you will be served a four course meal like they had back in Biblical times. The meal lasts about an hour and half and if you opt to have the walk through tour it will take you three hours at least. It is well worth it. The owner of this center is trying to educate people on the history of the Bible and with 30 years plus of experience of research and living in Israel, he has really opened a lot of people’s minds.
The Explorations in Antiquity Center is opened Tuesday through Saturdays 10am to 6pm. The price for just the walk through is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 4-12. If you like to do that plus the meal it will cost you $30 for adults and $18 for children under 12. Please check out the website I linked above for more information, including their Christmas show they have!

Just right outside LaGrange, Georgia is the Wild Animal Safari Park. At this park you will be able to get up close and personal with many exotic animals by being able to feed and touch them. Some of the animals that roam in the park are elk, bison, giraffes, alligators, wolves and bears. However that list is not a limited one, check out their website for all the information on what other animals you will see.
You can either do a group bus tour, in which you and at least 20 other people in your party will board a bus decked out in zebra stripes for the drive through tour. If you have less then 15 people you can look into renting a van to drive through on your own terms. However, Wild Animal Safari park also has walkthroughs as well.
Prices for tickets are $17.95 for adults and $14.95 for children ages 3-12. If you have anyone younger then 3 they are free!
