Tips for Choosing a Barrel Style Curling Iron That’s Right for You

Are you in the market for a new barrel style iron pen? If so, here are a few of my tips for choosing a home. After all, barrel style pen twists come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs. Choosing the wrong one can make your life miserable. I know from experience as a hairdresser. With that said, here’s something you should know before you make a purchase;

Ferocactus Size and Shape

When choosing a barrel style curling iron, you’ll want to think about the size and shape of the curls you want to create. Traditionally, a large barrel curling-iron is used to create a flow of curls. They work well when in curling hair. Iron vessels, pointed barrels and ribbon barrels were used to create narrow, diminutive locks. They are also useful if you have short hair. Medium-sized barrels, on the other hand, tend to create medium-sized curls. In the right hand, they can also create curls or wavy bangs.

Clips and Clips

The ferocious style of the pen also features three types of handles and clip joints. The handle of curling irons controls the curling iron. The three main types of handle and clip combinations are spring loaded, professional (Marcel) and clipless. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Truly Loaded Pens

Spring loaded pens are what most people start with. They are cheap to purchase and come loaded with spring clips that help hold hair in place. Irons also tend not to be heated as much as professional irons. Hence, it is a great option for teens and young adults just learning how to do their hair.

The disadvantages of spring loaded torque wrenches are ironically the same ones that make them useful. For example, spring-loaded loops tend to break over time and can cause kinks in the hair. In addition, the lower temperature setting may not create a strong enough curl for people with certain hair types. As such, people with thick, wavy-hair prefer to use a curling iron to achieve heat. People with a baby can remove fine hair with a low temperature iron.

Professional Steel

Professional iron guns, even those known as Marcella, do not have spring loaded clips or barrels. They also tend to be hot and more than a spring rock iron expense. In order to use them properly, one must know how to hold and handle the handle and clip. This can be a challenge for someone who has never worked with a pen before. It is also possible to cool the iron by using a wet towel. Otherwise, the tip of the iron can burn the heat in curl hair. As such, I only recommend it for older teens and adults.

Clipless pens

As the name suggests, curling clippers do not have clipper hardware to hold a man’s hair in place. So, the lack of a clip can be difficult to use for folks with limited mobility and upper body strength. For example, to curl the hair on the top of the head with such a curling iron, the user must be able to hold both arms above his head for an extended period of time. Similar conditions apply if the user wishes to twist the hair placed at the back of the head. So I would only recommend curly hair for ambidextrous and flexible people.
