Tips for Passing PMP Exam

It is wise to pass the PMP from the first time

On 8th Dec 2010 I passed my PMP exam from the first test, a very interesting experience to see “Congratulations for passing the PMP exam”.

Applying for the PMI exam will accept terms and conditions that prevent the opening of the type and syntax of the questions in the exam itself, I will provide tips about the style of my studies and a general description of how the questions are expected.

First of all, passing the PMP exam is not a miracle and failing it will make someone less capable, you should apply for the exam whenever you are confident that you have studied enough and do not add any extra study to what you have already studied. .

Note: the study of writing well and describing the good to me, so that it does not suit everyone, each has its own type and approach to know and remember.

1. Remember that passing the PMP exam does not require much memorization, just memorizing a few equations. What remains is to know how to understand and tell how the different parts of knowledge and group processes are interconnected.

2. The first reference was the PMBOK 4th Edition. Personally, I read it one perfect time and in light of a subject I never knew, I used to read only the second illustrated text already noted for the first time and all to the PMBOK.

3. The second report was Rita’s package. This is the real starting point to understand what project management is. This package includes his PMP exam prep 5th edition and his fast track 5.0 or 6.0 are both good.

4. I also did 10-15 test 10-50 between questions for the site pending.

My schedule was as follows:

1. preparing for the exam I started on 12 Aug 2010 and passed on 8 Dec 2010 to be a little less than 4 months.

2. For me, in the last few days, I used to slow down my studies for 60-90 minutes to make it clear that I am weak.

3. The night of the exam I just relaxed for some time playing with my kids and I did kind of good in need To speed. Believe me, you need to relax the night before the exam, because if there is something that you did not understand in the last two months then you will not understand one night before the exam itself.

4. In my daily routine I study no more than 4-5 hours every day. And on a few odd days I was up to 7 or 8 hours most of the week.

5. I recommend that you pay a lot of attention to Rita’s material, believe me or not, while I was testing I thought I would read Rita’s practice questions.

6. In Rita’s chapter on studying integration, I used it as an example, to highlight the main points and then test myself for 50 random questions in that science. As for the things that discouraged me, I used to write by hand on external papers as I wanted. to revise them later. I did this for all areas of knowledge and process groups.

7. In Rita’s package i.e. you can search fasttrack by keyword which is very useful, save you and effort. This was very helpful, which I could not fully understand.

8. Make sure one or two full tests are done before appearing in the real one, it’s not easy to go for four hours in one. If the score is less than 70% in these written tests then you should consider rescheduling your exam if it was in the near future. Personally, I used to score 78%-88% in most of the tests.

During the exam session

Remember that if you have told a lot about colleagues and friends, then expect a flood of phone calls asking you about the event. Some will ask because they are truly concerned, and others will only see you fail. Of course; if indeed my wife did not know that I was to be freed that day. But if that type of person needs encouragement, do it as much as you can.

Personally, I was good in the field of quality knowledge, because I used to be a QA for the last 4 years, so I had the right questions about quality control without even giving it a second thought. But in areas like risk or agency I wasn’t familiar with I had to read the question three times to fully understand.

There were some questions about social responsibility that to this day they are unable to know what they are asking for, and for a moment I thought that the answers for this question were given falsely. So I recommend reading the social responsibility part two to three days before the exam once or twice.

For merit value and critical path questions were 5-6 questions and they were straightforward, the questions in Rita’s pack were much more detailed and elaborate. So if you can solve Rita %50 problem then you will be sure to answer the exam questions easily without any trouble.

The question used to be 5-8 lines long, and some are one line, but don’t worry, the 8 line questions usually have extraneous information that only challenges you, trying to understand what is the key statement or key word in it. they try to relate the long-winded question and the answers to it.

The exam was 4 hours, but it took me two hours and 50 minutes to complete, I marked 10-12 questions for review. I reviewed them for accuracy and was out of the exam hall in less than 3 hours. Some people say that if they finish before 4 hours, they will review the questions in the remaining time. Personally I think this is wrong because I know for sure if I edit the answers if I change the answers I could make them wrong.
